Have you read the one where #sweetjane is not very sweet and marries a horse? I have not read the second book yet, and the third is due next year. #lilithjuly

Cinfhen Ha😂❣️❣️❣️ 1mo
KarenUK Interesting synopsis 💕😂 1mo

Running a bit behind today. I thought of a #SweetJane being Jane Austen, Jane Bennet & Jane Eyre, but then I decided to go with the opposite & pick the decidedly less sweet Jane Steele. This imagining of Jane Eyre as a serial killer is a fun read. ❤️

Cinfhen Great pick!!! I was also thinking about all the retellings and the antithesis of #sweetJane 🤗like 1mo
DebinHawaii @Cinfhen Ooh, that would have been a good pick! 😉 1mo

Cinfhen I almost chose Fun with Dick & Jane, too!!! My sentence was: Dick likes Jane. Jane likes Dick. ?a little risqué for a first grade reader, huh ? 1mo

First thing I thought of for 'Jane': I've only seen the film adaptation, but would love to see a production. Great performances all around in the film, but am I alone in thinking that Alice is the only one of the bunch I'd actually like to meet in real life? The rest bugged me for different reasons, but they were still good characters.

Cinfhen Need to check out book & film!! 1mo
KarenUK What a great choice...... such a good play/movie.... but yes, interesting but not exactly likable characters! 😂 1mo

(Day 11 - #SweetJane)

*My favorite book by “sweet” Jane Smiley is “Ten Days in the Hills.” It takes place shortly after the (fictional) 2003 Academy Awards ceremony, at a house party in the Hollywood Hills. Present are a director and his girlfriend, his ex-wife and her guru, and their daughter, among others. Smiley‘s novel (based on the “Decameron”) is peopled with spoiled navel-gazers obsessed with love and (the Iraq) war.

Cinfhen This is one author I really want to read but keep getting side tracked by newer shinier books 😁 1mo
KarenUK This sounds great.... stacked👍📚 1mo
gradcat @KarenUK You may not like the characters, but I think (hope 🤞🏼) you will like the book. ♥️ 1mo
gradcat @Cinfhen I know EXACTLY what you mean! ♥️😂 1mo

Lots of pretty covers for this Montgomery book about #sweetjane.

(Another great song! Love the Cowboy Junkies and Margo Timmins' voice!)

Cinfhen You and @karenuk seem to like the same music 🎶 I‘m not familiar with a lot of these songs 🤷🏼‍♀️ 1mo
merelybookish @Cinfhen We are definitely music twins. When I saw her playlist, I was amazed. It could be one I made! 1mo
Bkwurm So many great covers! Jane of Lantern Hill is one of the few LM Montgomery books I haven‘t read. I guess I better get reading! 1mo
