I enjoyed this one. The switching of narratives and time periods kept me interested, even if I did guess the ending.
It was a lovely and endearing little book, perfectly paired with a glass of wine..

Holiday read ☀️ Outrageous, dark and witty. Really loved this and for a serial killer grace is totally relatable! Bit of a frustrating ending but I hope that means there‘ll be another.. #pick #holiday

At the end of this novel the author writes “I hope this book makes you a little bit angry, I hope it makes you think”.
While Vox doesn‘t come close to Handmaids tale, I found this interesting and well written and yes it certainly did make me angry and it made me think #pick #Vox

Is enjoyed the right word? This is a powerful and emotive read. Didn‘t buy into the romance at all, I found Ryle arrogant and manipulative from the beginning but if this book helps just one woman in a similar situation realise she‘s needs help then it‘s done its job. #pick #ItEndsWithUs

It‘s difficult to describe this book in a few words. Brutal, traumatic, vulnerable, heartbreaking. For such a tough read I found it impossible to put down, its heavy and I had to force myself to take breaks at some points. Definitely not one for the faint hearted but if you can manage it you won‘t be disappointed. #pick

I was unsure of this book at first. It Seemed to take a little while to get going but once it did I LOVED it! There were so many twists that I did not see coming!! I also liked how historically accurate it was, all the references to medieval Amsterdam are really interesting and I became so invested in the lives of the characters! #pick #theminiaturist

I have so much love for this! When people ask “what‘s your book about?” I found it impossible to explain in a few words. There are so many themes and layers to this novel it could be about religion, race, addiction, culture, science..I could go on and on. Fundamentally it is a beautifully written book about what it‘s like to be human 💜 #pick #transcendentkingdom

Mind. Blown..
I can‘t believe I‘ve only just got round to reading this classic. Now I see why it is one of the greatest books of the 20th century. Some of the themes are still so current even now 70 years after it was written. Orwell was way ahead of his time. Genius!

Thought this book would be right up my street. It tells an incredible story about culture, life and strong women which are usually things I look for in a good book. Unfortunately the writing lets it down. I didn‘t connect with any of the main characters and it just didn‘t have enough emotion for me. Not my favourite.
