Couldn‘t put this thriller down! Thanks @AmyG Lots to unpack in this psychological thriller about a daughter keeping her mother hostage in their house. Alternating between 25 years ago and the present, as well as alternating both viewpoints, leads to many truths, lies, murders etc. Plus a satisfying ending by a very good writer.

BarbaraBB A favorite author of mine! 1d
AmyG So glad you like it. I love a psychological thriller! If you do, read Barbara Vine (who is Ruth Rendell). Wonderful! 1d
Cathythoughts I enjoyed a book of his recently.. must try another. I agree with @AmyG Ruth Rendell is excellent. 1d

Lesliereadsalot @AmyG @Cathythoughts I went through a period years ago where I read every Ruth Rendell/Barbara Vine book. Every single book, couldn‘t get enough of her! 16h
AmyG @Lesliereadsalot Me too! It was around 1989,1990. I had a babysitter come in the afternoons for a few hours (I had 3 kids under the age of 4 at the time)…and I‘d lock myself in my room and read Ruth Rendell books. I‘d go to neighboring libraries to find as many of her books as I could find. Too funny! 14h
Lesliereadsalot @AmyG So funny! I had 2 kids under 5 at that same time and I read Ruth Rendell books every minute they were napping (unless of course I was napping too!). I still remember reading about Barbara Vine and thinking wow, lots more books to read. It‘s been so long they would probably seem new to me 🤣 11h
AmyG @Lesliereadsalot I think I like Vine a little more as her books are more psychological. Too funny! We are too alike! 👊🏻 11h
Lesliereadsalot @AmyG I agree about Barbara Vine and you and me! 11h

Great summer time read! I was resistant to hop on the Freida train as she is so hyped, but I am Ifinsing her books to be great reads on sunny days in between outdoor projects.
