In CA, only 13.6% of adults served by a regional center were employed in 2015 (CA SCDD stat). For today‘s #NewYearReads I ask everyone to make a difference:
-READ about developmental disabilities
-support legislature that supports the field
-if you‘re a business owner or know one: reach out to local transitional programs, regional centers & nonprofits and collaborate to ease and support transitions into meaningful employment

Mindfulness of others your neighbor, friend, family, ETC. Being mindful can lead you to help out someone in a small or big way to you which can be a huge help to others. A good deed a day goes a long way!

TODAY'S THOUGHT: MAKE A DIFFERENCE

I try to make a difference every day by keeping in touch with folks who have no one and by helping others when I can. Please check on your neighbors especially if they are elderly.
