I understand why people like this book, but I found it ok. Short stories aren‘t my favorite, and some were better than others. I dislike the prevalent notion that “literary” fiction must feature infidelity, and there‘s quite a bit of that here.

I enjoyed Mr. Pirzada, Mrs. Sen, and The Third and Final Continent.

7th finish of #JumpStart2020, 5 from my original stack of 7. Six is in progress but slow going.

Sixth finish (not in my original stack) for #JumpStart2020 is the 46th Nancy in a row with the kiddo. A silly story, with some minor race issues (Turks all look the same, a swarthy Turk with blue eyes?), but leaps and bounds beyond some of the others.

I‘m really struggling to get any reading in recently. This month is just killing me!

I can't say that I'm totally in love with it, but I enjoyed it a great deal. There were a few moments that I've found a bit boring, but most of the time the adventures of four March sisters were quite charming. And there are definitely lessons in there that one can use today. 📚📚📖 #jumpstart2020 #littlewomen

WHAT...DID...I...JUST...READ?!?! I am not sure how to feel about this book. While it made fun of 50 Shades, it wasn‘t exactly funny. I mean I did laugh a couple times, but it was more because something unexpected happened, not something funny. I was hoping for something a bit funnier or at least something that didn‘t make me cringe more than 50 Shades did. ☕️☕️☕️

#JumpStart2020 Book 8

Lizpixie Sounds..interesting?!?😂 6h
AsYouWish @Lizpixie That is was.... I mean 50 Shades had some interesting vocabulary, this one put it to shame (pun, slightly intended)! 5h

Although I didn't have much reading time yesterday, it was enough to send me over my goal of 34hrs for #JumpStart2020!!

I've been spending some time soaking in this gorgeous book. Everything about it makes it SUCH a pleasure to read and handle. While I am fond of my Kindle, I can't imagine trying to read a book like this on it.

My #JumpStart2020 day has been switching between these two wildly different books. Even though I‘m a King fan, I believe there‘s a demarcation between his pre accident books & post accident books. But I saw the 1st episodes of the series last night & loved it so bought the audiobook. The other was today‘s #BookMail but I started reading & couldn‘t put it down! I grew up during the worst of the “Troubles” & vividly remember it on the news nightly.

cariashley How‘s the audio of The Outsider? Am debating whether I want to read it in print or listen. 9h
Penny_LiteraryHoarders @cariashley audio is great! This is how I read/listened to it. Will Patton narrates. 9h
Lizpixie @cariashley it‘s ok so far, my problem is that Will Patton has such a distinctive voice that it takes me away from the story coz I keep getting images of his face! 8h
ElizaMarie I read the book and really enjoyed it (Stephen King) I haven‘t started the stories yet... but I‘m gonna tackle it pretty soon! I‘m glad to hear people are liking it :) 8h

I love this beautiful little book. Rereading it was a treat!

And just in time. As the fifth book I've finished so far this year, it completes my #JumpStart2020 goal. 💚

A fun collection. Isn't Hastings sick of Poirot by now? He's really horrible to him. Book 4 of 5 for my goal!

I loved this book so much!!! Part personal narrative, part love letter to nature, part call to action, this book is just plain lovely. The audio is read by the author and you can feel her love for her subject through her speech. If you're interested in plants and/or folklore and/or Celtic culture and/or protecting our planet and/or great storytelling, I can't recommend it enough!

Book 3 of 5 for #JumpStart2020. Almost there!

P.S. Plant a tree.

LittleBug Sounds great! Stacked!☺️ 15h
