Book review catch-up post 4 of 5:
This one didn't resonate with me as much as I expected it to, but it was engaging. There were a few loose ends that I wish had been explained. I would read more by Lansens, so overall I liked it. #ohcanada

•This author‘s books are either a hit for me or a near miss…this one falls into the latter. Despite wanting to, I never connected with the characters or the story. I‘m willing to admit it might be a me thing.
•Christine Lakin‘s narration was decent.
Some friends of the Parentals have dropped off their 2 little hellions for the weekend at Casa Wakefield. They proceed to terrorize the twins with mean pranks until Jess & Liz have had enough & decide to run away. They run all the way away to their fort in the backyard 😆 & eventually, all is right in their world again. So cute. 4⭐️

Just over a week left and I'm excited to discuss with those who are interested. I'll post a few discussion points in the afternoon of Saturday, May 3rd - which gives everyone a few extra days. Weekdays are too busy with the kiddos - so going forward I'll post discussion points on the Saturday after month end if that works for everyone. If there is anything specific you are interested in discussing please feel free to comment here. #OhCanada

I got 51%… top three: Harry Potter, the Hunger Games, and to kill a mockingbird
An early novel by Hannah, I think, and less readable to me than her more current.
I always appreciate her female friendships and perspectives but this one felt a little twee and predictable. However, Jude's journey to understanding was very apt for my situation, albeit not for the same reason.
I'll always give her books a go! This would be a prime adaptation!

Un romanzo struggente in cui non si capisce cosa sia realtà e cosa immaginazione
Una lettura che ti trasporta e ti lascia senza fiato
A father‘s gone missing and the only witness is the nonverbal son. I appreciated the exploration of how happiness works, and how we align verbal skills with IQ, often incorrectly.
