Welsh is an acquired taste, but worth it in the end with finger crossing fragile redemption.

pickThis is a dark read because it raises a lot of disturbing issues.
He weaves a good, gripping story and it held my interest all the way to the end.
Irvine Welsh never disappoints.
pickThere is the Irvine Welsh stamp of good writing on this one, but the story (thankfully in a way) wraps up too neatly- bad gets bad and good triumphs. And because of this, I feel Welsh went on a Floridian fishing trip to get Hollywood execs‘ attention trolling for a movie deal- still an exceptional read!

Personally, I love Welsh and I love "Gas" Terry, a character who with his many weaknesses is hard to forget.

Had a relatively good week. Had a few difficult days sticking to my new diet but I only caved on one of those days when I went out to eat. Spent a lot of time cooking and baking healthy recipes.
