Just snagged one of the last spots in #LMPBC! Can't wait to get to know the other members of #GroupW through their markups! This is so exciting!

CollyRae @hwestfall @hes7 @ads0123 Hey #GroupW! I just got an email suggesting we start coordinating! Any ideas? 3mo
hes7 I need to go through my stacks and pull out some options. Any genres we want to avoid? 3mo
CollyRae @hes7 I'm up for anything except for maybe erotica 🤣 3mo

hes7 🤣 Same. 3mo
ads0123 @CollyRae @hes7 I agree with y‘all! 😂 3mo
CollyRae @hwestfall @hes7 @ads0123 This is my first time; are we supposed to keep our pick secret so it's a surprise when it arrives? Or do we get input on what everyone would like to read? 3mo
ads0123 @CollyRae we can do it either way. I‘ve done this a few times now and I‘ve done it both ways. 3mo
hes7 The couple times I‘ve done it, we posted options before choosing, so the choice wasn‘t something someone had already read/would not want to read. 3mo
CollyRae @hwestfall @hes7 @ads0123 I feel like knowing what everyone is reading would be more fun because then we could actually post pictures while we go. 3mo
hes7 Works for me! I always enjoy seeing the books picked and looking forward to reading them. 3mo
hwestfall Sounds good to me! I am pretty excited 😊 3mo
CollyRae @hwestfall @hes7 @ads0123 Awesome! So if everyone is on board, do we each want to pick out some choices and then just tag everyone when you post it? 3mo
CollyRae I can't wait to do this! It's like the traveling pants, but books!! 3mo
hwestfall The email I received had everyone‘s email address. Should we email instead? It might be easier that posting on here. 3mo
hwestfall I sent an email to the addresses they gave. Hopefully it works 🤞🏼 3mo

Received!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I‘m super geeked for this #creaturefeature from @BethM for our #LMPBC #groupw (right?). 🐜🐜🐜 And the traveling journal is so cool! 🐫🕶

Thank you also for the adorable notepad, bookmarks, and pencils, and the coffee that I have been coveting, stalking, and aching for 💔 since I first saw someone receive it on Litsy forever ago. Seriously, I‘ve googled it and amazon‘d it and now I have it!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️ Thank you!! 🥰😘

Bklover Yay! I think we‘re group V though, aren‘t we? 🤨 5mo
Bklover And that coffee looks AMAZING!!!! 5mo
Avanders @Bklover lol probably... I have a hard time remembering the letter part 😁 Re the ☕️... iknowright?! I‘m so excited to try it!! ♥️ 5mo
BethM I thought you‘d like it :) I sent some to @Mommamanzi last year. They only roast it in July/aug. you can get it online from Stone Creek Coffee, but only through them. 5mo
Avanders @BethM ooooooh well extra thank you for sending it to me!! ♥️♥️ I must have seen it on Nicole‘s page... 😁 5mo

@CSeydel headed home! I didn't necessarily "enjoy" it, but Baldwin didn't write to entertain; he wrote to make you think. This was a masterclass in characterization. With depictions of the Black church, family rallying together for the birth of a child, Black love & the policing of Black bodies, I was in awe of the writing. Some things didn't age well, lack of chapters at times made it difficult to digest,& I wanted more closure at the end. 3.5⭐️s

Jee_HookedOnBookz I've received your book from @arubabookwoman, Kaleah! Thank you Deborah! @lele1432 Kaleah, I might take a little longer than usual to finish it. Is that OK with you? 6mo
lele1432 @Jee_HookedOnBookz oh of course! No problem! 😊 6mo

lele1432 @Jee_HookedOnBookz I'm doing well! Except for getting sick from my youngest lol. Thank you so much for your kind note btw! That you sent with Beale Street. 🤗😘 Hope you're doing well! 6mo
CSeydel I got it, thank you! 6mo
lele1432 @CSeydel okay great! Hope you enjoy the comments! 😊 6mo
CSeydel I‘m looking forward to reading through them all! 6mo

Sorry for the delay but this is headed your way Carrie!

I'm not entirely sure what I just read lol. Equal parts anti-war satire, social critique, musings on family & dealing with grief, ending with a fever dream of revelations...this book was indeed weird & lacked cohesiveness, but I like weird books! I've heard his non-fiction reads better. He has some powerful 1-liners & I felt some emotion towards the end, so I do see potential! Maybe ⭐️⭐️💫?

CSeydel Ack, I need to get a move on - I‘m still reading 7mo
lele1432 @CSeydel I did feel like that one needed a lot of focus to take it all in! 7mo

Welcome to Night Vale | Joseph Fink, Jeffrey Cranor
post image

Hi #lmpbc #GroupW reading buds! Here‘s a stack of choices I was considering. Let me know what you think!!

BethM I‘ve tried to get through Nightvale 3 times and haven‘t been able to. I‘d give it a shot if that‘s what everyone else wanted. My pick would be Altered Carbon but good choices! (edited) 7mo
SarahHarts_books I read Gold Fame Citrus and hated it. I had the hardest time getting through it. The actual story line would've been ok, but there were just pages and pages on nonsense. I don't know, maybe you'll have an easier time reading it. But I have been wanting to read Vox that looks good! 7mo
cobwebmoth I haven't read any of them, so I'm totally open to whichever one you pick. 7mo
Chrissyreadit I‘ve not read any of them. I‘m open to consensus or your choice 7mo

#lmpbc #GroupW Here are my sci-fi picks. I own the two books pictured but plan on buying Recursion at some point anyway. Hitchhikers would only be the first book obviously not the whole series. Let me know your thoughts.

ETA: I‘ve never read any of these.

See All 24 Comments
Chrissyreadit I‘m not a fan of hitchhiker. Tried to read it and just could not. I could be interested in any of the others though. 7mo
Avanders Ooh fun picks! I‘m suuuuuper geeked to read 7mo
Chrissyreadit @Avanders @BethM that was my BOTM pick. I did enjoy Dark Matter. 7mo
BethM @Chrissyreadit if you had wanted to put it In Your picks I can always remove it from mine! 7mo
Avanders @Chrissyreadit I *loved* Dark Matter. And I haven‘t read the Pines book, but I liked the tv series (and I know there were great deviations 😁). @MaleficentBookDragon is also a huge Crouch fan ☺️ (edited) 7mo
BethM @Avanders I only picked up Dark Matter on your recommendation and ended up really enjoying it! 7mo
Chrissyreadit @BethM I‘m pretty easy going- you are on the ball so see what you choose, and I will go from there. I‘m wondering about some classic sci fi, but not sure if too long- like 7mo
Chrissyreadit Or something by Octavia Butler 7mo
Chrissyreadit @Avanders what is Pines? 7mo
BethM @Chrissyreadit those all sound great! While I‘d like to read Dune, it may be a bit ambitious for a one month read. 7mo
Avanders I‘m so glad you enjoyed it, Beth 😊😊 7mo
Avanders Ooh Nyxia is so good @Chrissyreadit (though I “read” most of it via audiobook!). Pines = 7mo
Chrissyreadit @BethM ha! I do agree. I even considered a re read of Stainless Steel Rat- it‘s been 30 years since I read it. I‘m in agreement shorter is better but I need to explore. Maybe 7mo
Chrissyreadit @Avanders you are the reason Nyxia is on my TBR! PS- just sent you an email 7mo
MaleficentBookDragon @Avanders is right I love Crouch. I read the Pines Trilogy in a weekend. I couldn't put them down. I was hooked from that moment on. 7mo
cobwebmoth I haven't read any of the ones you've pictured. I'd be fine with any of them 7mo
cobwebmoth Ack! It posted my comment before I'd finished! I'll try to get a list together and posted tomorrow. 7mo
Avanders @Chrissyreadit oh nice! Then I extra hope you like it 😁😁 7mo
collegecatlady I‘ve read Recursion but I‘d be fine with any of the other three! 7mo
