So here are six options for #GroupL - kind of a random batch!! Will say The Poppy Wife is listed at just over 400 pages, so I understand if that one needs to be off the table. I also have about 300 more choices if these all look terrible 😆

hes7 I like the randomness! They all look good to me, and I haven‘t read any yet. 1w
Chili I have read Mosquitoland. But none of the others. 1w
Scochrane26 I‘m not part of this, but I really liked Mosquitoland. I see the author pretty frequently because he lives in my area. 1w
Jerdencon Haven‘t read any of them! I don‘t mind a little longer book either - they all look good 1w
TheAromaofBooks @Scochrane26 - Mosquitoland is on my TBR because I read another of his books, Kids of Appetite, and weirdly loved it despite not being my “usual“ kind of book. I've been meaning to read this one ever since! 1w
TheAromaofBooks @hes7 @Chili @Jerdencon - Sweet!! I'll pick a not-Mosquitoland one and we should be good!! I'm in another #LMPBC group this round as well, so you may see these books floating around for that group, too 😆 1w

Alright, #GroupL, these are the choices I pulled from my shelves. I‘ll tag the rest of the books in the comments. Let me know what you think. #lmpbc

TheAromaofBooks These all sound fun!! I've read The Last Unicorn, but am not opposed to a reread as it has been a LONG time! 1w
Chili I haven‘t read any of them. They all sound good. 1w
ameliashley @hes7 I‘m not in your group but The Last Unicorn was my favorite movie when I was too young to even understand it! 😆 I didn‘t even know it was a book!! 1w
TheAromaofBooks Also just realized that you said you had it narrowed down to five and there are definitely six 😂 But six look nicer in a collage, so I'm down for it! 1w
Jerdencon I haven‘t read any of them- they all look good! 1w
hes7 @TheAromaofBooks 😂😂😂 I totally did have five. Then, I was pulling them off my shelves and was like, “Ooh, this one looks good, too.” 🤦🏼‍♀️😂😂 1w
TheAromaofBooks I sadly had trouble narrowing it down to six! 1w
hes7 @TheAromaofBooks It‘s so hard to pick! I think I‘m going to have to use a random number generator or something to make my final choice. 😂 1w

Hey #GroupL!! So I need at least a smidge of direction for picking out a book - is anything off the table?? I really don't want to read horror/anything graphic but am otherwise open to almost anything. Do we want to choose a theme, or just four random books??

@Jerdencon @hes7 @chili

#LMPBC #Round8

Jerdencon I‘m good with anything except sappy romance! I kind of like the idea of random and having a surprise every month but will go along with whatever everyone wants to do. 2w
Chili I second @Jerdencon about the sappy romances! Otherwise I will be good with anything. 2w
TheAromaofBooks So usually everyone presents their options and the group approves of them, but would you all be interested in doing a secret #LMPBC round, where we stay within the parameters of what we definitely don't want to read, but otherwise have no idea what books are headed around the circle?? I'm also find with the traditional way, but this method could be entertaining. @Jerdencon @Chili @hes7 2w

Chili I‘m fine with either way. I like surprises but there is a slight risk of getting a book you‘ve already read. 2w
hes7 I‘m good with whatever—including sappy romances 😂 but I‘m okay if they‘re off the table. Picking a book with zero feedback makes me nervous, but I‘m down for keeping the choices a secret. 2w
Jerdencon Whatever you guys think - I know we‘ve all read a lot so there is the chance of having read something already but the surprises are nice. 2w
TheAromaofBooks @Jerdencon @hes7 @Chili - we could do it as an almost-surprise - each person picks five books, then the others can say if they've read them, but we don't know the final pick?? 1w
Chili @TheAromaofBooks that‘s a great idea! 1w
hes7 I‘m good with that. I just narrowed down to five. 1w
Jerdencon Great idea - going to find five now! 1w
TheAromaofBooks @Jerdencon @chili @hes7 I think six is also an acceptable number of options - sorry, Litsy decided to post my comment before I was done with my sentence - an acceptable number of options since an even number fits well in a picture collage haha (edited) 1w

It‘s been about two weeks since I finished this marvelous gem of a book. It‘s taken me that long to process (kind of similar to the 😨😢😱 reaction I had to her one book I have read) but all I have to say is: I love court dramas, that twist of an ending, and the reformation that is possible. Also the importance of fighting for what you believe. ❤️ #LMPBC #groupL Thank you for your awesome choice. @Kayla.Adriena @Skeebies05 @shellleigh33 📬➡️🔜

ImperfectCJ I just got this one on audio from my library. Seeing your positive review, I'm even more excited to listen to it! 1mo
ruskigurl16 @ImperfectCJ I am glad that I was obtuse in my review, and did not provide any spoilers. I will mention a trigger warning (language, race issues and this is a labor & delivery ward, so sensitive topic). Hopefully you will enjoy! 1mo
ImperfectCJ @ruskigurl16 I don't actually mind spoilers, but I guess with this kind of book, it's probably better to know very little going in. This will be my first Jodi Picoult... I hope I enjoy it, too! 1mo

Kayla.Adriena I've been thinking about this book lately..especially in regard to all the drama surrounding American Dirt and the Own Voices movement...curious what people's thoughts are about a white woman writing in the voice of black woman experiencing horrific racism in her workplace. I only hope to have respectful conversations on Litsy, I understand that "outrage culture" has become a problem. I read this book and liked it. 1mo
Kayla.Adriena I only hope to be a responsible informed reader and never want to hurt or bring further harm to those not living with white privilege 1mo
ruskigurl16 @Kayla.Adriena I am white. I now that I live in a world where those of us who are sometimes receive treatment that is more preferential than others. My boyfriend is of Spanish decent and us together, we get looks. I am living my best life though. Favorite moment: going shopping with Ruth for a present and how she reacts to the scrutiny. There is growth in the characters. Amazing growth and that makes it an important book for this discussion. 1mo

Received the *last* book in the thoroughly enjoyable #LMPBC #groupL round. I have only read one book by this author (My Sister‘s Keeper 😮😢💔❤️) and the blurb about it sounds fascinating. Certain characters and aspects are ALREADY making my blood boil. And of course I have phenomenal respect for nurses, always. I am excited! @Kayla.Adriena @Skeebies05 @shellleigh33 😁 P.S. Pictured is my new Prayerful Planner and energy drink shaker! 🙏🏻❤️

On the one hand, this book was riveting and compelling. I raced through. On the other hand, it was jarring and a little experimental and didn‘t quite come together plot-wise for me. But I am definitely glad I read it and am interested in reading another from Auster.

@suvata This is on its way to you a little early!!

Chili @thebluestocking This was definitely my least favorite Auster. 3mo
thebluestocking @Chili What would you recommend I read next from him? 3mo
Chili @thebluestocking I really liked 4 3 2 1 and The Book of Illusions. Timbuktu was so-so, but better than Invisible. That‘s all I‘ve read so far. I have The New York Trilogy on my TBR shelf. (Ok TBR bookshelves) 3mo

thebluestocking @Chili 😂 I think I might try 4 3 2 1 next because I‘ve heard many trusted readers (including you!) rave about it. 💙 3mo
Chili @thebluestocking Good Choice! It‘s a chunkster. 3mo
