pickThis was a fun read by the former editor-in-chief of the Canadian Oxford Dictionary. The book is structured as a year in reading, with a selection of topics that fit each season. It's a great book to pick up and put down, which is how I read it (although sometimes it was hard to resist “oh just one more set of words“).

Mellifluous is also a pleasant word to say! I love that the Latin translates almost literally to 'flows like honey' 🍯
Pronounced TUR-Shuh in Irish or TOOR-shuh in Scottish I think many of us are experiencing this in a deep way.
The antidote is to find joy, gratitude, etc.

I did this in five word bursts, sometimes multiple a day, rather than one a day to keep up with library loans period, but it was still marvelously diverting rather than overwhelming. I can't say I'll remember every word I learned about but I always enjoy etymological entertainment. 1/?
