Reminded me of Bet Me, so of course I enjoyed.
Bonus points for the Chris Evans reference.

A bit of a creaky hand rec - the whole thing is sort of irritating but hey I had fun and that's worth something!

I thought it was a fun book, it followed a lot of tropes though so I wouldn't say it was shocking. However, I wanted something lighter and this was a good fit.

A black Québécois moves to Austin, TX in this fun, fish-out-of-water YA novel.

This book delivered almost everything I want in a YA book:
?? Catchy premise. Each chapter starts with field notes.
?? Not too much romance.
?? Has issues, but not heavy like my adult fiction.
?? Some comedy, too.

Other than being disappointed by the cheesiness of the epilogue, this was a hit! 4⭐️

I love short stories so when I came across this anthology I jumped into it. It is full of wonderful, diverse stories. My favorite was Tags by Walter Dean Myers.

words can‘t even begin to describe how much i loved this book. the feminism in Watch Us Rise speaks to me on a much different level than other books i‘ve read before. the actions taken by chelsea and jasmine are so in check with my beliefs and i felt so inspired while reading this. the book also goes through real high school problems, which made the book feel more realistic. this might be my favorite book ever! everyone should read this.

Continuing my novella streak with this gem by Alyssa Cole. A fun fandom romp with tons of fangirl feels, representation, and banter. Really wish I could watch Reject Squad Ultra, such a cool concept!!!!

Wow... this book has heartbreaking as well as a powerful message. These young woman were forced to leave their homes because of a lot of different reason. But one message that comes across throughout the whole book is how they didn‘t let it get them down and they persevered and made it their mission to help others. I haven‘t read Malala‘s book yet but it will be bumped up my TBR list soon!
