Pickpick

This was a sweet comedies that hit all the right marks! The dialogue was entertaining, there was a nice balance of conflict and humor and following people pleasing Charlie around while she tries to save her sister's wedding is a whirlwind! Some of the subplots were a little underdeveloped and sporadic but overall I will definitely read it again when I need a good laugh! #MorganMatson #SaveTheDate

Happy sock Sunday! I just finished #SaveTheDate by Morgan Matson. It‘s a cute quick read but it feels more like it should be a movie than a book. I enjoyed the family dynamic but it was a little unrealistic and overly dramatic for me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5⠀

Humour is subjective I know, but here is a taste of #savethedate. It's all like this - multiple viewpoints, contradicting perceptions, very high school, and building a complex layer of character and plot. p. 49

Romance novels aren't usually on my radar. Most are super predictable and thus boring. This one looks promising, however, so I'm joining in! Spread the word!

MinDea I don't think I knew this was a romance novel... @Jess7 7y

Jess7 I don‘t think it‘s a typical romance novel. @MinDea - I thought it was classified as literary fiction - and was compared to Fredrik Backman books. I think it‘s supposed to be a character study type book. 7y
Jess7 Meet Eleanor Oliphant: She struggles with appropriate social skills and tends to say exactly what she‘s thinking. Nothing is missing in her carefully timetabled life of avoiding social interactions, where weekends are punctuated by frozen pizza, vodka, and phone chats with Mummy. @MinDea 7y
Jess7 But everything changes when Eleanor meets Raymond, the bumbling and deeply unhygienic IT guy from her office. When she and Raymond together save Sammy, an elderly gentleman who has fallen on the sidewalk, the three become the kinds of friends who rescue one another from the lives of isolation they have each been living. And it is Raymond‘s big heart that will ultimately help Eleanor find the way to repair her own profoundly damaged one. @MinDea 7y
winemom From the description, it's listed as one. lol But I'm giving it a shot. I won't judge before I read! @MinDea 7y
Jess7 Smart, warm, uplifting, Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine is the story of an out-of-the-ordinary heroine whose deadpan weirdness and unconscious wit make for an irresistible journey as she realizes. . .

The only way to survive is to open your heart @MinDea
