so-soI FINALLY finished a book in February. It‘s been a slow reading start for the month.
I‘m glad I read this. It it didn‘t have the charm of it‘s predecessor “It‘s Not Me, It‘s You” or the fabulous dialogue of “Prince in Disguise” and the premise was a bit ridiculous. Still, the cast is diverse (the MC and love interest are not white), the problems pretty darn high school, and it had it‘s shining moments, as seen in the bits I quoted.
The two YA books I‘ve been reading have been subtly or not-so-subtly commentating on our currently political climate.
And then near the end of this book, during the sophomore class president speeches, the author just outright trolled the Trump administration with a character who is basically calling for discounting the existence of women at the school and using the slogan, “let‘s make San Anselmo Prep great again.”

There is a very high probability I will regret this (even though I have a pretty high caffeine tolerance) but I just had to use my new mini French press to make coffee for cookie dipping...at 9 pm.
At least I should be able to stay up to read my book, right?

I kid! But I‘m also not watching at all. I used to at least pretend but when my husband stopped caring so did I.
My kids exploded with tiredness and went to bed an hour early. Husband is grocery shopping (he says it‘s fabulously empty there). And I should be doing laundry (I will...soon) but I‘m mostly just sitting here enjoying the quiet.

Anyway, thought it seemed difficult (dare I say, tedious?) but 15 pages in, I have snorted 5 times already. So am declaring my love 😍 for it..
Fall is a fabulous time for books! Two of my most anticipated came in on hold for me earlier this week. I hope The Date to Save is as fun as It's Not Me, It's You. And Empty Grave is *supposedly* the final book in the Lockwood series. I'm invested in the characters so I need to know what happens but the last few installments have been slow going for me. We'll see how this one turns out! #libraryhaul #libraryloot
