I feel like I read an 800 page analogy of how today's major religions are historically intertwined. Shannon's world is divided into 4 sections with different belief systems. With research and plenty of intense adventures, royalty begin to see fallacies of their own culture and begin to forge alliances in order to destroy an evil.

Plenty of suspense, intrigue, strong women, and dragons.

I love this book ever so much and not just because Mary‘s decades long care for this family feels terribly wonderfully familiar (but suffice to say if I was a ghost we would not have dissimilar positions). This was a lovely, sorrowful, fantastic continuation of a series I‘m truly enamoured with. I doubt I will ever get tired of finding out what the Price family gets up to next.

The castle seemed to grow from the cliffs that cupped the shoreline. Its jagged-peaked turrets pierced the rain-heavy clouds above; its windows were gaping mouths and gored-out eyes.

July #bookspin pretty successful! Got the bookspin and doublespin and so I'm caught up for all the spins this year so far except one. (The Book of Love, on pause bc pdfs have spontaneously stopped working on my kobo and I haven't had the bandwidth to sort that issue out yet... Not as if I have any shortage of stuff to read).

I received this as an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.
My feelings on this book are mixed. I really like this fantasy world established in the previous book-though this goes into an entirely different direction. I like the lovable cast of characters and super cute dragons.
What I struggled with was the romance.⬇️

Nessavamusic I rooted for our main characters, but it is an example of lazy writing to have the main conflict being easily resolved with a mature conversation at the end of the book. So I recommend this with reservations just barely. 3.25⭐️ 4d

I truly enjoyed dhus book but the same repeated argument does get a bit old to listen too. It's an incredible story but be prepared for some continued arguments. Love this series!

I was so excited for this book, and honestly, I was not disappointed. I can see how this type of book can be super boring to most people, but I am exactly the type of nerd that LOVES the minutiae of dragon anatomy and scholarly research and cataloguing, and identification. Lady Trent was a character who felt unique and had a lot of growth as a person through such a short book. There were some points that made me squint, but the book is very-

Doppoetry -careful about not overstepping stereotypes or try to be super racist. I found the setting to be very simple but also very refreshing. The descriptions are not overly flowery but still very engaging.

Although I loved this book, I would only recommend it to people who would actually enjoy the type of book that it is.

Doppoetry Another big plus of this book is the beautiful illustrations by Todd Lockwood, one of my favorite fantasy artists. 6d

Doppoetry @AllDebooks A lot of this book discusses Dragon Naturalism. I really enjoyed that aspect of it, but I see a lot of reviews calling that VERY dull, so be aware of that! ☺️ 6d
AllDebooks @Doppoetry that is exactly what peeked my interest! 6d

We are at the half way mark with Ship of Magic for #RealmofElderlings buddy read or challenge

Who has started/finished the book?

How are you finding it in comparison to the Farseer trilogy?

Use spoiler tags if necessary!

We'll be reading Ship of Magic through August and then Mad Ship September/October

Everyone is doing great, these are chonky chonky books. I've really enjoyed the buddy read on SG and seeing what people think as the read

Laughterhp Still waiting on my library hold to come in! 7d
willaful I started it but was traveling and found it hard to concentrate. I may just not have it in me for these right now, but I will try again.

kelli7990 I‘m still reading Royal Assassin. I‘ve started Royal Assassin but I‘ve only read the prologue. (edited) 7d
PuddleJumper @kelli7990 I'm going to go back to Farseer trilogy. I much prefer the Liveship Traders and I don't need the misery of Fitz's life right now! 🤣 7d
Luke-XVX Can you un tag me? I‘ve no idea when I‘ll get to these books unfortunately 6d
