I just finished a re-read of this just there and I just loved it even more the second time, it's such a great horror novel.

I've been recommending it to people for years, so if you've not read it before; I recommend it to you if you like proper horror fiction.

Ace🖤

KathyWheeler I have had it for years but haven‘t read it yet. I need to find it and actually read it. 2y
dragondrool I think my favorite of his would be The Wolf's Hour, which is a book I put off reading for a while because I didn't expect to like it, much less love it. I'm not a fan of the Matthew Corbett books, but loved pretty much all of the older horror stuff. I intend to reread most of them. 2y

A classic horror with some serious 80s vibes.

Gave me some fuzzy nostalgia.

Was a little too long though, took a while to get into the swing of things and although I like setting the stage, the vampires didn‘t really appear til half way through.

Still fun to read! 🧛🏻‍♂️🧛🏻‍♀️

4.8⭐️ there‘s just something about classic horror stories that leaves me with chills. This story is awesome, A lot longer than I thought it would be, but absolutely worth it. No sparkly vampires here, no budding romance, just straight murderous bloodthirsty creatures. It was just so good. #TeamHendrix #scarathlon2021 #scarathlon

1️⃣ Never did this before but I've been asked to read and review by two authors who sent me books but not got around to it yet.

2️⃣ www.goodreads.com/theneverendingtbrpile

3️⃣ They Thirst by Robert McCammon 🧛‍♂️🌙

(But also The Dark Tower, done in a TV Series and at least trying to cast and follow the series properly)

Thanks for the tag @DarkMina
#WondrousWednesday @Eggs

I tag everyone! 🙋‍♂️

Eggs Thanks for playing 💙📚💙 3y
DarkMina Adding #3 to my TBR. I agree the Dark Tower Series could be good as a TV series. I was disappointed in the movie even though I really like Idris Elba. 3y

What a great book!
I loved it from the beginning to the end ❤
All the characters are very well built and so is the story!
There are some tense moments that makes all the experience so great... even when everything seems to come to the end!
Definetely a book that I really enjoyed and that I will recommend to anyone love the genre ❤

1.) I prefer creepy characters like Richard Straker from 'salems Lot and Mamoulian from The Damnation Game etc. 💀

2.) I'd rather read about a vampire, as that's my favourite kind of horror novels; I find them enjoyable and unpredictable. 🦇

I'm going to wrap this up with a recommendation for anyone interested, They Thirst by Robert McCammon; the vampires are evil and don't sparkle one bit! 🌙

One of the best vampire stories written in my opinion, it takes 'salems Lot to the big city and man it's a splattery one; the opening chapter alone is one of the bloodiest scenes I've read and things don't exactly chill out from there.

Anyway. Vampires! In L.A.! This deserves to be regarded as a classic of it's subgenre, not romanticizing vampirism like so many popular series do today but showing it as a tool of purest, blackest evil.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

phantomx This a great review! I'm always trying to find a great vampire story to read. Showing vampires as romantic creatures actually started when Dracula was made into a movie (for the first time). Within 1970s and 1980s, vampires were shown as both frightening and romantic. Then, some YA and fantasy stories in the mid 2000s had vampires remain more in romance genre, but now there is display of vampires as either ugly, determined, possessive, and witty. 4y
phantomx Definitely try these books out (these are non-romantic vampires): The Southern Book Clubs Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix, and The Cirque du Freak series by Darren Shan. 4y
ApoptyGina69 I LOVE this book! Took a long time to find my own copy, but I now have a paperback and a SubPress collector‘s edition. 4y
TheNeverendingTBR @phantomx Thank you for the recommendations, sorry for the late reply - I appreciate it! 💫 4y

1.) I've yet to be scared by a book, If I HAD to choose one I'd choose They Thirst by McCammon.

2.) Fright Night, the 1985 verson; obviously. The best horror movies came out in my birth year.

3.) My favourite thing about Autumn would be the colours, I'm a landscape photographer so it's just brilliant for shots! 📸

4.) I'll go with The Host by Stephanie Meyer, it's derivative as fuck but I still enjoyed it.

@amb #spookyautumn

I tag you 👀

Reagan Fright Night! I also love the remake. 6y
madamereadsalot1 I liked The Host as well. I'm a sucker for body snatcher stories. 6y
