Award-winning photographer Alejandro Miranda hasnt been home to Key West in yearsnot since he left to explore broader horizons with his papis warning never to come back echoing in his ears. He wouldnt be heading there now if it wasnt for an injury requiring months of recuperation. The drama of a prodigal son returning to his familia and their beloved Cuban restaurant is bad enough, but coming home to the island paradise also means coming face to face with the girl he left behindthe one who was supposed to be by his side all along . . . Anamara Navarro was shattered when Alejandro took off without her. Traveling the world was their plan, not just his. But after her fathers heart attack, there was no way she could leavenot even for the man she loved. Now ensconced in the family trade as a firefighter and paramedic, with a side hustle as a personal trainer, Anamara is dismayed that just the sight of Alejandro is enough to rekindle the flame shes worked years to put out. And as famillia meddling pushes them together, the heat of their attraction only climbs higher. Can they learn to trust again, before the Key West sun sets on their chance at happiness? Praise for Island Affair Rich with emotion and breathtaking prose . . . a captivating love story that demonstrates the power of forgiveness and strong family bonds. Farrah Rochon, USA Today bestselling author Dont miss this lovely beginning to Priscilla Oliverass new series. Cant wait to take my next trip! Jamie Beck, USA Today bestselling author

ANCHORED HEARTS is a cute romance, with family dynamics, food, and Cuban culture. For me, the second chance romance fell flat, But, I enjoyed the family unit, it was funny watching the mamis and their antics at pulling the strings with their children. The family dynamics awesome just like in the first book as well. I did not enjoy Anchored Hearts as much as Island Affair, but it was a enjoyable quick beach read.

Not as good as the first in the series. I was bored half way through. ⭐️⭐️

My February #bookspin list, accompanied by the book @TheAromaofBooks sent me as a 2021 #bookspin prize winner which just arrived. Thank you Sarah ❤️ I‘m excited to read this one!

Anyway, my February list leans heavily towards #swoonathon romance and #blitsy reads off my shelves for Black History Month, along with spots for #roll100 and my continued reread of the Hollows series.

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!!! Glad it got there eventually! 😂 2y

I really expected to love this one, so I'm super disappointed that I didn't. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't very good either. It felt like it was dragging on a bit at around the 75% mark, and I could feel my desire to read this drop

Finished this last night. I loved this book. A second chance romance but it wasn't completely a romance. There was a lot of family dynamics involved within these two Cuban cultures who are living in Key West and for Anamaria and Alejandro each making a different decision that ends their relationship. They each blame the other at first. But they still love each other. 👇

tracey38 👆 An injury bring Alejandro home among tension with his father. He and Anamaria are brought together by their nosy mami's. Will they become friends, something more, or can they get past the hurt of the past? Loved this book. 3y

This one was pretty cute & just the kind of relaxing read I need during a chaotic week!! There were times where the drama between Ale & his dad dragged out a little, but I loved how it all came together in the end. Fun & fluffy.

#WeeklyForecast - didn't make it to the library this week, so maybe I will actually get to Led Zeppelin before it gets ditched again?? 😂 Also interested to finally try the Hillerman mysteries, which have also been lurking on this shelf for far longer than they deserve. Should wrap up my Norway guide this week - I have another book about this beautiful country waiting in the wings that has loads of photos, so I'm stoked to get to it. @Cinfhen

Cinfhen Never a shortage of what to read!!!! 3y

I was enchanted by the synopsis and excerpt I read on BookishFirst. And the book did not disappoint! This is a sweet second-chance romance story. I enjoyed reading about the Cuban-American family dynamic. And I felt the characters and plot were realistic.

If you enjoy Jasmine Guillory or Abby Jimenez, then definitely check out Priscilla Oliveras.

This is my May #doublespin book & also one for #integrateyourshelf

TheAromaofBooks I read the first book in this series last year and found it pretty cute - this one is on reserve at the library!! 3y
wanderinglynn @TheAromaofBooks I‘m definitely going to check out the first one. 👍🏻 3y
tracey38 This cover epitomizes spring/summer! 3y
wanderinglynn @tracey38 yes! I love the bright yellow cover. The book is set in Key West 3y
ChasingOm I LOVED the first one. It had my favorite romance trope — fake dating. 😂 This one is in my bookshop.org cart for payday, hah! 3y

If you're looking for a happy chick lit romance, this might be exactly the right book. It's exactly what you would expect from this genre. Which obviously has its own appeal. It's engaging and entertaining and you know before you even start reading that there will be a happy ending.

There seems to be a happy yellow theme happening here. Maybe I should slow down on the coffee.

TheAromaofBooks Yay!! I have Anchored Hearts on hold at the library so I'm hoping it will come in soon. I really enjoyed the first book in the series. 3y
vlwelser @TheAromaofBooks I had no idea it was a series. I got it from a Goodreads giveaway. I think it's out later this month. 3y
TheAromaofBooks I think it may be one of those series where each one is just about a different family member, so you probably don't have to read the first book first, but it was a fun one. 3y

I love the idea of #ownvoices romances, and I think they are the best kind! I love the infusion of Spanish words and phrases into the dialogue. It made the book so authentic, and I loved to see Hispanic main characters written by a Hispanic author. It's so underrepresented in every genre, not just romance so I was so excited to read this book! Overall, I thought it was a very good book and romance, but I just didn't enjoy it personally.

Today‘s #bookhaul!

I won the ARC of the tagged from BookishFirst and it included 2 recipes from the Cuban restaurant feature in the book.

How The King of Elfhame, a special edition from OwlCrate

And the 2 watercolor books to get me back to practicing my watercolors.

Crazeedi Nice! Didn't know you were an artist too! Multitalented you are❤ 3y
wanderinglynn @Crazeedi I wouldn‘t say I‘m an artist. I‘m a dabbler. I just like to try different things. 😉 3y
Crazeedi @wanderinglynn that's really cool, it's one thing I dont think I'd attempt, I'm just not artistic with drawing and painting. Cant wait to see what you create! 3y
Moony Oh the complete watercolor essentials notebook sounds good! Is it about basics or about sketchbooks and nature sketching? 3y
wanderinglynn @Moony it‘s really 2 books in 1. The first half has 3 main chapters: watercolor tools, painting techniques, & putting together a composition. The second half is about painting landscapes. 3y
