Finished this paranormal cozy mystery for #ThematicCozies December #Holiday & it was just okay for me. I think it‘s a spinoff from another series so it felt like I was dropped in the middle of the backstory rather than being a first book & there were also a few too many characters for my taste. I didn‘t hate it but don‘t know if I‘d bother to read another when better cozies are out there.

Eh — way too much going on for a first book. This one just didn‘t speak to me

A cozy witchy holiday mystery. First book in a series. It was ok maybe so-so but I enjoyed it. Halliday, is a witch who return to Marshmallow Hollow town after she inherited a Christmas decoration factory. Her magic not always goes well but she has help from a hummingbird and a reindeer, who can talk and a cat. Only one person in town knows she is a witch. Sounds silly but it was funny, specially at the end when she try to resolve a murder case3⭐️

My first foray into cozy mystery & I wasn‘t sure I would like it. I was pleasantly surprised.
A fun mixture of Hallmark Channel Christmas movies, Sabrina the teenage witch, & Veronica Mars.
Hal runs her family‘s ornament factory in Marshmallow Hollow, Maine. When a slimy developer is found dead at the annual winter festival, Hal takes it upon herself to find the killer with her cute tenant, Hobbs. Oh, Hal is a witch. And her grandma is a reindeer.

A fun first in a short series set in Marshmallow Hollow, where Christmas is celebrated hard core (Halliday gives all of her workers the whole month off!), but there's a murder in the town, so Hal (who is also a witch), her reindeer grandma, her cop best friend and her cute neighbor Hobbs and his dog Stephen King are all on the case! #WinterGames #MistletoeManiacs @Clwojick

4 ⭐ In Marshmallow Hollow, Maine, every day is Christmas. This book does connect to other Cassidy series, but it can be read as a stand alone. Atticus the hummingbird familiar is one of my favorite characters, but I think our main gal needs to be fleshed out a bit more. She is a psychic witch who hates that she has to hide her magic.

I had some amazon gift cards to spend. That‘s my only exception to buying books from them. And I only let myself buy books I can‘t get in print anywhere else. So I ordered the pictures I believe Howels is book 7 in steam punk red riding. I have to check. Haunting sis a stand alone. And the Cassidy‘s are her new holiday series. #bookhaul
