Bump. Currently in the news. This case haunts a lot of people. Let‘s really hope this is the guy.

So I just finished this one. It was a little harder to get into because it was just so sad and just so much heartache and pain and uncertainty so... But yesterday and today I got into a groove where I read it. It was so good. and its a somewhat local story (well Texas) #TBRCrew #CrimeADay
Goal #1 for #JubilantJuly
I want to work on this book funding this week. I have a couple of goals for this #JubilantJuly Readathon
1. Get far in tagged book -- its a rough one #CrimeADay
2. Read 3 Graphic Novels -- Not sure which ones yet.. I will post them when I figure it out. I downloaded one already but.. I think I will probably finish it before the 11th
3. Start another book on my #TBRCrew book list. (not sure which one yet)
Not sure if I am going to time myself.
This breaks my heart! I have seen some of those confession tapes documentaries and its so scary/sad that we can be manipulated in the way we can be. The justice system needs a major overhaul but.. I don't know what we need. Just know we need something!
#CrimeADay
Its not that I am not enjoying this book. Because I am .. A lot.. I just haven't been reading it consistently. So.. I set up little tabs for this coming weeks plan (If I follow it I would be a little over 2/3rd of the way through. Anyway its a very chilling read (since it is closer to home)

Its how we respond to the uncertainty really makes or breaks up. I have a hard time with uncertainty at times.. But I am able to kinda just go with it a little bit. Anyway I am enjoying this book. Its a little more slow moving than I had originally thought. but Its one that I have to be in a good headspace to read (so I put it off for other more light-hearted books)
#CrimeADay
So this has been sitting on my nightstand for a while now. I am very interested in this book but... other books got pushed forward. I am going to use the #CrimeADay to help me stay on track with this one and read a chapter of this book a day.
I bought this one in an indie bookshop in Houston (Murder by the Book). Being a Texas gal and into true-crime I figured I would give this one a shot. Will probably start it later this week (it was one of the TBR I had brought for this contract)

Raised some interesting questions but didn‘t follow them
I knew nothing of the Yogurt Shop Murders in Austin, TX prior to this book. Four teenage girls were killed one night when they were closing the ICBY yogurt shop where two of them worked. The killers were apprehended 8 years later, but were they really the killers or had two of them offered false confessions?
This was okay. A lot of the writing is disjointed and I don‘t like the lack of sources the author cites. The book also could have used a much stronger copy edit—lots of glaring errors and muddy sentences. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I think the case is fascinating, but the story got bogged down with too much detail about the legal perspectives in my opinion.
These are crazy numbers. Also #ssdgm!
Very well written. A page turner. Tragic story that leaves you with more questions then answers.
Anyone in or near Austin TX knows what "yogurt shop murders" means....devastatingly sad. One of my eldest daughter's classmates was Eliza Thomas. Perpetrators still unknown.....

Not the normal beach read, but I'm loving it so far!
My favorite #truestories are true crime books. I can't wait to read this one about a horrible cold case that's 26 years old. #riotgrams
Another terrifying true crime book - infinitely unsatisfying as it's never been solved. I can only hope they can find a match to the full male DNA profile they obtained. Those poor girls and their families. 😢
Give me all the true crime samples
This book is making me again regret my decision to not pursue criminal justice as a career. #truecrime
Though this book covers a tragic and violent unsolved crime with respect and in a non-sensationalized way, it was kind of bland. I think it's possible to be both respectful and able to evoke emotion, and sadly this book didn't quite reconcile the two concepts.
Weekend reading, cold-case edition.
For my fellow #murderinos - read this book about a fascinating cold case and learn about these poor #sweetbabyangels. #myfavmurder
