Locke and Key Volume 5: Clockworks | 
pickThis just keeps getting crazier and crazier. This one focuses mostly on the past. We finally find out how Dodge became evil! Very sad and bloody. Ending definitely creepy with the look “Bode“ gives in the panel. Wonderful all around and graphics are awesome as well.
pickThere is some cool time travel stuff that allows us to see some of the history of the family/town, and I really loved that (and was also devastated by it, especially seeing how good people were forever corrupted by the dark forces at play and others' carelessness in handling them). The artwork is as gorgeous as ever, and I still love these damn kids and want to hug them (since we're in quarantine I pretty much want to hug everyone, but still). 🗝
pickLuke is finally dead, and it seems that all problems with the Dark Lady has disappeared. However, Luke always thinks three steps ahead. Bode's body has been overtaken by Luke to pry Tyler of where the Omega Key is. With finding the Time Key, Kinsey and Tyler travel back in time to the Revolutionary war and the late 1980s, where the creation of the Omega Key, butwhat lies beyond the Black Door, and the mystery of the Dark Lady are revealed.

pickI was on pins and needles reading this graphic novel so, so, so fantastic I just loved and enjoyed it so much.
pickPhenomenal. Hands down. The art, the storytelling, and everything is just phenomenal. This has to be my favorite volume yet. The way the author gives you a better understanding of the events that led to where we are now was superb. I‘m excited for the conclusion but also dreading it because I just don‘t want it to be over! #comic #graphicnovel

I think this might be among my favourite volumes in the series. I particularly enjoyed the parts with the kids‘ father and his friends. Apparently, there is only one more volume left
There's a liquor store near the bookstore, so I wandered in there afterwards AND FOUND THE LOCKE & KEY BEER! WHICH IS MY FAVE!
I honestly gasped and pressed my hands to my mouth like I was on TV and the celebrity contractor just showed me my extreme home makeover, because I've only ever found this beer in BC.
And yes, it's totally book-related because the person on the label looks like Dodge, whether or not the brewer intended it.
pickAhhh, whoa. The hunt for the Omega Key continues & Dodge is getting ever closer to it & opening the Black Door. Tyler and Kinsey learn more about their family history & the role the Lockes played in the past & to the present day. The volume starts fast & does not let up. The story is top notch, dark, &, answers to some secrets are revealed—things aren‘t always black & white. As in previous volumes, the artwork is great. One more to go.
Last comic of the weekend (and the last from my epic haul last week). This one is not new to me and I am more than ready to dive into Volume 5 to see where the story takes me.

pickI think this might surpass volume one as my favorite in the series so far! It's 3 in the morning but I had to finish it before I went to sleep. I love learning the backstory and history of how the keys were made, especially the parts about Rendell Locke and his friends. pickIn the second to last book of the original series, we get a history lesson. A little bit on where the keys came from, and even more importantly, what happen in the past. The kids found the Clockwork keys, that when used, allows them to travel back into the past. The nice thing, is that while they may spend days in the past, it is only seconds in their time. To say any more gives too much away. But it‘s good. How good….. Read it to find out.

pickVol. 5 of the Locke and Key series. Tyler and Kinsey find a key that lets them travel in time. They go into the past to learn the secrets of the keyhouse. Most of the book occurs in the past and we learn a lot of interesting things. Things are getting very exciting in this series. On to the next volume!

After 16 hours and 1021 pages of reading, I'm calling it a day on #readathon. I finished 2 novels, 1 short story, 3 graphic novels, and got part way through a 4th graphic novel. I think I'll take a break from reading for the rest of the day. 😆📚😆 Congratulations to those who are still forging ahead in the remaining minutes!!
