Browsing Netflix, I found The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell, which is part baking, part haunted/unusual/creepy Martha Stewart, part Addams Family-esque show. In this first episode, she making a cake of her house with some extras. Anyone hosting a Halloween party may want to check it out for inspiration.

And I‘m going to have to check out her book.

🎄Ok so you all know that I'm the Spider Queen, but we have a family tradition where we hide an ornamental spider in our tree. The 1 who finds the spider on Christmas morning gets a special gift underneath the tree. It's an old German tradition.

Think I first heard of The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell on #Netflix from @rather_be_reading OMG! So good. Even my hubby enjoyed it! Definitely need to follow her on #Instagram.

Okay not book-related but Halloween related here... Have you guys checked this show out on Netflix yet? I swear she is my new idol in life! It's a cooking show and she makes things like what I've pictured here. She is a total cross between a Grimm fairytale and Martha Stewart. I love her so much!!! If you haven't checked this out already, please do! It is on Netflix streaming right now 😍😍😍😍

More of my Lent Prep "hedonism." If Mardi Gras exists so that everyone can induldge in their vices as much as they can before the Lenten season, then this is how I party.

I can see a lot of baking in 2017. Nothing as gorgeous or with jaw-dropping effects, but tasty, nonetheless.
