I‘m planning to gift this book to my 7-year-old this year... mainly because he‘s a great reader ready to move on to middle grade books, but also because I want to read it myself. 😂

My son and I both really enjoyed reading this one for bedtime. We can't wait to start the second in the series.

I received a copy of Warren the 13th and the Whispering Woods from Goodreads but thought it would be best to start with book 1! It has gorgeous illustrations and is a super fun story, so far!!

This week has been crazy busy! My work hosted it's annual Donut Dash 5K. Let me tell you...putting on a 5k for 600 people is a ridiculous amount of work. I can't imagine how much it work it takes to do the big ones!!! However, I'm a little sad it's over! This week also was very productive in regards to getting a ton new books! I'm so excited for this one, but it's not even what I'm most excited about, which is saying something!!

Audrey Do you get a donut at the finish line? 🍩 7y
IndyHannaJones @Audrey and beer. You could also do the donut challenge where you run half the 5K and then eat a dozen donut holes and then finish the race. 7y

So much fun. Love the graphics, the puzzles, the mysteries. Am thoroughly enjoying this red & black book. Perfect for everyone! @QuirkBooks looking forward to more adventures. "Warren the 13th tiptoed across the roof of the Warren Hotel, and the old slate tiles clattered like bones." #FirstLine

What an epic story, full of magic, mystery, and adventure. The pace is fast, with something happening on almost every page, full of twists and riddles and codes. Top-notch quality writing with rich vocabulary and beautiful phrasing. This is the kind of book you feel good about giving your kids; a book you keep on your bookshelf for years and years. And the incredibly detailed illustrations are the icing on the cake. Such a fun read!

I would call this lemony snicket meets the grand Budapest hotel as directed by Tim Burton. I am really loving middle grade lately and I just loved the whole aesthetic of this title.

I'm combining my #TBRTuesday and #somethingforsept posts. Three of these books are my unfinished reads from #biblioweekend. I'm really loving all of these so I'm jumping between them. I haven't started And the Trees Crept In yet, but I'm hoping to this week. Now I'm going to my reading spot with Warren the 13th and a cup of pumpkin spice tea. I'm determined to pretend it's fall weather even though it's still in the 100-degree range here. 😄

So I keep saying I'm going to slow down on the book buying, BUT the library had a book sale today (stack on the left) and I caved at the bookstore (stack on the right). However, 5 of the books from the bookstore were discount books so there...that's something. At least I'm telling myself that it makes a difference. 😄

I've already started Scary Out There for my horror-themed #biblioweekend. I'm loving it so far! Really great selections!

Desha So much how I am! 😜 You just bought HOW many books?! Yup!! And proud of it! 📚❤️📚 8y
