I‘m ashamed to say I‘m less than a 10-minute walk to our downtown main library from work and today‘s the first day I walked there. In my defense, it was the first day under 90 degrees (88) at the hottest time of the day in many months. I needed a mental health break. So I went and replaced my library card. Works nuts so I went straight back to work.

Some of you rightly identified the “Fiesta Tower” by Chihuly that I posted earlier. I looked it up to confirm that it was indeed by him and created for our library system‘s 100th birthday. The library itself was designed by a famous Mexican architect, Ricardo Leggorreta. I was fortunate to spend a week in the blue hotel he designed in Mexico City, although I was handling an arbitration at the time and we were 100% under security. 😐

Today was a good day, warm but good! ☀️It was lovely to return to an in-person San Antonio Book Festival. I attended six sessions featuring nine authors and increased my TBR list as one does. 📚#sabookfest #sanantonio #sapl

It has been a long time since I had quite this many physical books out from the library. I picked these holds up via curb-side on Saturday. Most of them are on my February #Bookspin list. #librarylove

This was announced yesterday. I feel like someone canceled my Super Bowl.

Also, San Antonio Public Libraries are closed for at least the next week. I imagine that will be extended. If I were going to go somewhere, I don‘t know where I would go. #sapl #sanantonio #sabookfest

P.S. I‘m aware in the midst of everything going on this maybe isn‘t a big deal, but I‘m still bummed.

For my #januarywrapup I am not counting the number of books I‘ve read this month. It caused a bit of stress last year to have a goal. Even though I surpassed it I was fixated on the number. So this year I am figuring out the value I receive from my public library. I only counted books I finished, and books I‘ve borrowed from either of my two public libraries. Most were audiobooks and some ebooks. $454.48

I currently have 229 items on my For Later shelf at the library and 194 are books in some format. This is why I have to set a goal to read my own books. I also have once again maxed out my hold list. 🙄 Resistance is futile. #library #librarylove #sapl

I love the library and most of my reads come from there.

1. My usual branch wasn‘t listed, but I do go to the Central library at times and other branches.
2. At least once a week physically, but I‘m on the app or online more than that.
3. Audiobooks, E-books, digital comics/graphic novels, CDs, and DVDs
