Today was a good day, warm but good! ☀️It was lovely to return to an in-person San Antonio Book Festival. I attended six sessions featuring nine authors and increased my TBR list as one does. 📚#sabookfest #sanantonio #sapl

Bookzombie I‘m going to tag a book from each author below so I might increase your TBR as well. 😈 2y

Nute I am overjoyed, Margie! So happy to see all the amazing in-person book festivals!🤗 2y
Cinfhen I read and LOVED 2y
Cinfhen Going to check out the others - I already have this one lined up for #CampLitsy 2y
Cinfhen Looks like a wonderful day!!!! 2y
Bookzombie @Cinfhen I‘m happy to hear you loved Olympus, Texas. I enjoyed hearing her talk about the book. Even though Olympus is a fictional city, the author grew up in the area it‘s set. 2y
Bookzombie @Cinfhen I almost didn‘t go to Emma Straub‘s talk. I just didn‘t think I was interested, but I loved her. She was a lot of fun. 2y
Bookzombie @Cinfhen It was wonderful, but also very warm, lol. I hope next year they move it back to early April. 2y

It has been a long time since I had quite this many physical books out from the library. I picked these holds up via curb-side on Saturday. Most of them are on my February #Bookspin list. #librarylove

Sleepswithbooks What a beautiful stack!! 📚 3y
Reagan This one stayed with me, I found the end disturbing. 3y
vivastory Are some of these for women in horror month? I put a list together of what I plan on reading for #wihm 3y

Bookzombie @Reagan It has been on TBR for awhile. Looking forward to it! 3y
Bookzombie @vivastory Yes, they are! I have couple more on my list that are on my shelves. I‘m really interested in Certain Dark Things. 3y

This was announced yesterday. I feel like someone canceled my Super Bowl.

Also, San Antonio Public Libraries are closed for at least the next week. I imagine that will be extended. If I were going to go somewhere, I don‘t know where I would go. #sapl #sanantonio #sabookfest

P.S. I‘m aware in the midst of everything going on this maybe isn‘t a big deal, but I‘m still bummed.

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I think it's perfectly normal to be bummed. It was something you were looking forward to. I was supposed to go to a wrestling event in 10 days and that is canceled. 4y
Bookzombie @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick Thanks! I‘m sorry about your event too. It‘s too bad they couldn‘t have reschedule. I know logistics are a problem for some events. 4y
Suet624 😭😭 I‘m sorry. 😭😭💖 4y

Bookzombie @Suet624 Thanks, Sue! I should have noted that I have plenty of books to read so no worries there. 🙂 4y
marleed Darn. Such a fun and popular event. I saw Fiesta was moved to November. 4y
Bookzombie @marleed Yes, it was only postponed. 4y
Texreader 😢 4y
Reggie I‘m so sorry. This sucks!! 4y

For my #januarywrapup I am not counting the number of books I‘ve read this month. It caused a bit of stress last year to have a goal. Even though I surpassed it I was fixated on the number. So this year I am figuring out the value I receive from my public library. I only counted books I finished, and books I‘ve borrowed from either of my two public libraries. Most were audiobooks and some ebooks. $454.48

ljuliel Wow, very good ! 4y
KT1432 Holy cow, that‘s a great way to summarize your reading month!! I ❤️ San Antonio btw. If our careers ever lead us there I‘d love to experience it as a resident. 4y
Panic70 @ljulie Thought of you today. I hope February is an easier month! 4y

Panic70 @lele1432 I was born in raised in Washington state. I‘ve been in San Anton for 9 years and I really do love it. The cost of living here is fantastic. And we have some amazing greenway trails. I live half a block from one. If you ever make it here there are a few Littens that live here. We are planing a meet up when Jenny Lawson opens her bookstore. 4y
KT1432 Oohhh I‘m not far! I currently live in Houston. 😊 I could potentially still make it for the opening lol! Can make it a family weekend getaway.☺️ 4y
Panic70 @Texreader Can you please make sure @lele1432 knows when you plan a meet up when we go to Nowhere? 4y
KT1432 Thanks!! 4y
Texreader Yea I‘m starting a list. 😘 @lele1432 4y
KT1432 Thank you! @Texreader 4y
Sumi What a cool idea!! 4y
Panic70 @Sumi Thank you! I‘ve always been grateful for my library, but this puts it in a new light. 4y

I currently have 229 items on my For Later shelf at the library and 194 are books in some format. This is why I have to set a goal to read my own books. I also have once again maxed out my hold list. 🙄 Resistance is futile. #library #librarylove #sapl

Texreader Oooh! I didn‘t know SA library was online. I should have known. But haven‘t been to the library since kids were little. My new office is close to the downtown main branch. I‘ve been thinking of going and making sure I‘m good to go and start using the library again. 4y
Crazeedi Not too many....😉 4y
readordierachel The struggle is real! 4y

Suet624 Those two notices at the top of the screen are kind of scary. 4y
Bookzombie @Texreader Yes, this is the newer site. They also have an app too. You really should get a card. Even if you only used the digital services, it would be worth it. I‘m totally a library evangelist. 😁 4y
Bookzombie @Crazeedi LOL, just a few. 4y
Bookzombie @Suet624 We have about 29 branches so the temporary closure of one isn‘t too bad. They are doing some renovations and putting in a new HVAC system. The other is a response to MacMillan‘s new policy regarding ebook purchases by libraries. 4y
Texreader @Suet624 The work being done is at the branch I used back when I went to the library. It is an old old beautiful house (mansion) on beautiful grounds. I can imagine it needed the work. I hope to start visiting it again when the work is done. It has such lovely vibes there. 4y
Suet624 What is MacMillan‘s new policy? 4y
Suet624 @Texreader I love how different each library is. In Vermont we have two Carnegie libraries, beautifully built, and then we have some that are in what used to be churches and some in mansions. Each library very different from the next one. 4y
Bookzombie @Suet624 They have an embargo on library e-books because they think that libraries are affecting their sales. Libraries may only purchase 1 copy of a new ebook for 8 weeks. After the 8 weeks, libraries may purchase more copies. There are many libraries boycotting Macmillan. Here is one article: https://www.npr.org/2019/11/01/775150979/you-may-have-to-wait-to-borrow-a-new-e-... 4y
Suet624 Hmmm. Not sure what I think about this. 4y

Does anyone else have a weekly date with their library‘s edition of Wowbrary? 📚❤️

marleed San Antonio has such an awesome library! 4y
Bookzombie @marleed It does! I‘m very thankful to live in a city that has such a great library system. 🙂 4y

I love the library and most of my reads come from there.

1. My usual branch wasn‘t listed, but I do go to the Central library at times and other branches.
2. At least once a week physically, but I‘m on the app or online more than that.
3. Audiobooks, E-books, digital comics/graphic novels, CDs, and DVDs
