I've been struggling to read lately. My focus is off. Anxiety high. But a few nights ago, I picked this one up from my TBR shelf and cracked it open. Little did I know, I would burn through it. I expected dry, informative science. What I got was a rollercoaster of drama, humor, frustration and lots of fascinating information. Highly recommend to fans of science and astronomy.

Gina BAHAHAHAHAHA... I saw a really cool imax documentary of Pluto at the Adler Museum. He was in it and said the same line. 4y

GingerAntics @Trashcanman actually, I was just recently reading an article that said they were going to bring Pluto back, because apart from size, there were key differences between Pluto and other similar sized bodies in our solar system. Those differences actually make it more like the planets, so it was going to get its title back. 5y

I absolutely loved this easy-breezy memoir about the hunt and discovery of new planets that led to a new understanding of our solar system. Mike Brown interweaves the story of astronomical research with that of his marriage and the birth of her daughter - which makes it very compelling. The science is very clear; we learn of scientific methods, astronomer politics, and how newly discovered planets are named. Enjoyable, quick read. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
