pickToday was cool and rainy, so I sat all day and finished this. Newly divorced and looking for a change, Adie Lou returns to the cottage she inherited from her parents in Saugatuck, MI. As she starts to covert it into an inn, she reconnects with the important things in her life. I love Viola Shipman's books!! It gets all the stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

pickThere‘s no mystery here and only a hint of a budding romance, but i found something charming and satisfying in this book. Newly divorced, empty nested, and orphaned -if we can say that of a 40+ woman, Adie Lou has the opportunity to press reset on her life and find the thing that gives her joy. ↓

bailedI just couldn‘t go on with this book. Almost made it half way. The plot - divorced women starts life again rescuing her family cottage and turning it into a b n b. I just didn‘t care. The writing and dialogue is stilted or gooey. 1/5
Such a huge Viola Shipman fan when I want to read a tender story about simple people with a special unique quality. I've read all 4 novels and the 5th novel has just been released. I'll be reading that one also👍

pickI enjoyed this funny and touching story about a divorced mother of a college kid who decides to convert her Lake Michigan family cottage into a B&B (and, yes, finds love again). Its locale brought back memories of vacations “Up North” — and some were at B&Bs— when we used to live in Michigan.
I was surprised this author is actually a pen name for Wade Rouse.
Wow! I won this summer reads prize pack sponsored by the publisher Graydon House. Looking forward to spending time by our pool with these. Just wish it‘d warm up for real! I‘m thinking I‘ll probably read the tagged book first. Your thoughts/recommendations?
