Just an old photo ☺️
Note to self: don‘t take three years between books 4 and 5 in a series! Especially when there are only 6 books. That being said, I think I enjoyed this one the most so far, despite being a little lost at the beginning. Sh*t got real with Jace and Clary, as well as some of the other couples too. The final battle has been well and properly set up, so I‘ll definitely finish this #seriesread in 2019.
The book started off slow for me. I kind of find it annoying that Clary jumps into things without thinking them through. That being said, the book really started to pick up towards the middle end. There were so many references to TID which I loved. Also, Magnus reminded me a bit of Dionysus from Percy Jackson when he kept saying Simon's name wrong 😂 Can't wait to read the next and last book in this series!
I've been really busy with tests, but I finally got some time to read. Honestly, I'm not really enjoying this book as much as the others. Personally, I find Clary's character to be a bit annoying at times. I really love the other characters in this series though, and people have told me the book gets better.
Hopefully I'll have time to finish this book soon, and Happy Easter 🤗
I‘m starting to like Sebastian? The bad guy who‘s bad not because he wants to but because he has to, and because he doesn‘t know any other way. Too bad there‘s no happy ending for him. (I couldn‘t stop myself from checking what happens to him at the end😅)
Brain: Holy smokes! That was a corker... Should we start the next one?
Me: Tonight? It's after 11pm...
Brain: It's Friday night!
Me: And the next one's over 700 pages...
Brain: Start it, not read the whole thing.
Me: That's what you said last time...
S.O.S. Send help.... or coffee! ☕️
Shadowhunters starts again next week—so I am rushing to rewatch seasons 1 and 2 and finally finish TMI books. I can‘t believe I forgot how horrible these first few episodes were 😆 But can Alberto bring back the glasses because he‘s so cute
Just starting this after finishing book 4 on my way home from work. It‘s starting to feel like a bit of a slog, mostly because of these two characters. Open communication, people! Make all our lives easier! It‘s like being irritating is becoming a major plot device 🙄😂. If I‘d only just let myself bail. I have permanent book FOMO though and never can 🤦🏻♀️. Fingers crossed that it picks up! 🤞🏻
*Sigh* how to rate this book? It‘s somewhere b/t a pick and so-so. It also doesn‘t help that I didn‘t finish it during my library check out and I had to go back on the hold list so it feels like I‘ve been reading this book forever! I love the Shadowhunter world & the characters, but sometimes the plot isn‘t holding my attention, or I feel like it‘s going around in circles. I dunno, maybe it‘s just me. We‘ll see how it all gets resolved!
✨I haven't been posting much. I haven't been doing much of anything lately, including reading.. I've kind of gotten into a funk and I'm not sure I know how to get out of this one. The world is coming down hard on me these days. It's taken my motivation, hope, and strength. Idk what to do anymore. I'm so lost. 😔📚
It's been a while since I last visited this world and I had to look at the last books wiki to remind myself what happened.
I've also realized I've been able to read a lot more this year because I've been reading what I want to rather than what this book club or group of people is reading. I still read along on occasion but as a second book.
It's been four weeks since my last post! Due to Hurricane María, signals here have been truly weak. It is now that I'm starting to get some signal around places. Now, for the review: it's repetitive and slow at a various times, but I find myself still wanting to know more through it all.
Once again, we find ourselves, in Puerto Rico, awaiting for the passing of yet another hurricane; María. This one's eye is expected to pass directly over the island. Right now, I'm just reviewing my Modern Architecture notes and choosing which books to pass the hurricane with.
https://brooklynthebookworm.wordpress.com/2017/09/07/book-review-city-of-lost-so... Woah! I just finished this book and once again Clare has me lost for words! An utterly amazing, fast paced, epic read! Full review on blog, link presented 🤗 #bookish #mortalinstruments #bibliophile #shadowhunters #ya #fantasy #yabooks
Damn, does Cassandra Clare know how to do a cliffhanger! As with all the other TMI books, this was fun and crazy and had a number of holy shit moments. Also a few sad moments, one of which I reeeeeeally hope gets fixed in book 6. There is one small arc in here that I didn't really care about and felt superfluous, but overall another great entry in the Shadowhunters universe. 4/5 ⭐️
I read some reviews prior to reading this that were quite critical & saying not as good as previous books.
Whilst I agree the book wasn't as good as the last 4, I still thoroughly enjoyed the book & delving into this world. I love all the characters, and we're getting to see into the psyche of some of the characters more.
A picture that I posted on my bookstagram yesterday. The theme was "books and tattoos". This is only one of 9 but one of the most important. Plus one of the books from one of my favorite series is featured! Has anybody seen shadowhunters? What do you think about it?

“I saw you fall,” Alec said quietly. He bent down and kissed Magnus lightly on the mouth, not wanting to hurt him. “I thought you were dead.” Magnus smiled crookedly. “What, from that scratch?” He glanced down at the reddening jacket in Alec‘s hand. “Okay, a deep scratch. Like, from a really, really big cat.”

This is my potential line up for this weekend. I'm about 75% done with my current read, then there's just one more book in that series. I have a choice of print books to move onto after that, or audio books, or comic books. I'm all set! 😊📚⏱ #24in48 #Readathon @24in48
