“The real horror of my life is not that I‘ve killed some terrible people. The real horror is that the people I‘ve loved didn‘t love me back.”
Okay I know I shouldn‘t feel bad for a murderer/stalker but this quote makes me feel so bad for Joe. There were times where I was actually hoping things would work out for him.

This book had so many surprises inside! This book starts out in the 1980s but the very next chapter is set in 2017 and it keeps going back and forth between every chapter. At first the 2 stories seem unrelated but slowly pieces start to fit together and you make connections. Psychological thrillers have been my most enjoyable reads lately and this one sits towards the top of my favorites!

I love how strong the main character is in this series. I‘m excited that we were able to learn more about her magical abilities in this book as well as getting in some romance. We‘ll see what other obstacles Yelena has to overcome in the next book!

I really enjoyed this book and the Netflix movie but I liked the book better (like usual). I do wish we could have gotten a few more questions answered but it was a good read overall.

I‘ve been listening to this series on my way to and from work and I‘m loving it! I love the new characters this book brought to the series. Thorne is my favorite so far! It‘s so cool that these books are loosely based on fairytales.

I started this series in high school but my #yearlytbrchallenge is to try to read all her books this year involving the shadowhunter world. I love the diversity of the characters and the uniqueness of the world Clare has created.

Shley9225 I‘m doing the same thing this year! Halfway through City of Bones as we speak ;D 3mo

I don‘t usually care to read novellas but I loved this series so much and was intrigued in these 2 stories. I loved learning about the queens‘ childhoods and I knew there had to be more to the story of the Oracle Queen!

This book kept my attention so well it took me no time at all to read it. It‘s like when you pass by an accident or see a cringeworthy injury and just can‘t look away that‘s how I felt about reading this book. I can‘t wait to read the next one.

I absolutely loved this book! I love the eloquent vocabulary, the more prominent element of romance (compared to the other 2 books), and how the clues never led you straight to the killer. This is the series I‘ve been recommending the most lately and I even went and bought a book box for the 4th book that comes out later this year. The end almost had my heart breaking for one of the characters and I‘m so excited for the next book.

I am always cautious of books that have have a lot of hype about them but I was pleasantly surprised about this one. I needed a book set in Asia for a book prompt but I‘m now going to have to read the whole series 🤷🏻‍♀️ Loved the twist towards the end but I definitely called it from the beginning 🤔

I was going to try to space these books out because the 4th one is coming out this fall but that didn‘t work 😂 I typically try to read series after they are finished or almost finished but I just couldn‘t help myself 🤷🏻‍♀️ I felt this book was slightly slower paced and didn‘t quite keep my attention as well as the others in the series but I still loved it 😊

Glad I finally got around to reading this classic. Despite it‘s short length (compared to books I typically read) it took me forever to get through it. It shows the value of reading and thinking for yourself. This book has great meaning behind it but it just wasn‘t my cup of tea.

First off I love her honesty and how she doesn‘t hide the “bad parts”. I feel like too often you just get the positive and good things thrown at you but not the journey and how hard it can actually be to get to where you want to be. I loved the format of each chapter and how relatable her points were. I don‘t have kids so some things didn‘t apply to me but the vast majority did and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book 😊

The thing I loved most about this book is that everything in the society of this book could actually happen in our future. Everyone could be microchipped, our population could be controlled by limiting the number of children you can have, and our country being completely closed off to other countries. There were a lot of quotes that really stuck out to me and I‘ve included a few here. I‘ll definitely be reading the sequel when it comes out!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 I loved this book! I thought that my favorite character would definitely be the strong female main character but Thomas surprisingly became my favorite. I did guess the true killer but still enjoyed the journey to get all the clues. My favorite quote from this book is, “Death was not prejudiced by mortal things such as station or gender. It came for kings and queens and prostitutes alike, often leaving the living with regrets.”

I love mythology (except for trying to pronounce all the names lol). The characters were all of the common Norse gods and I loved how certain stories would build off of something you learned in a previous story. I half read/half listened to this book and enjoyed that the author was the narrator.

I had to force myself to read this book. I kept comparing this to he tv show (which I love) and not liking the differences between them. It was really slow going since you needed to know a lot of background (but if you watched the show this just makes it a very slow read). I didn‘t think this book was really building up to anything until the last chapter.
