When Lucy Berberian quits her Philadelphia law firm and heads home to Ocean Crest, she knows what shes gettingthe scent of funnel cake, the sight of the wooden roller coaster, and the tastes of her familys Mediterranean restaurant. But murder wasnt on the menu . . . Things are slow in the off-season in this Jersey Shore town, but Lucy doesnt mind. She doesnt even mind waitressing at the Kebab Kitchen. Her parents have put in a new hummus bar, with every flavor from lemon to roasted red pepper. Its fun to see their calico cat again, and to catch up with her old BFF, whos married to a cop now. She could do without Heather Banks, though. The Gucci-toting ex-cheerleader is still as nasty as she was back in high school . . . and unfortunately, shes just taken over as the local health inspector. Just minutes after eating at the Kebab Kitchenwhere shes tallied up a whole list of bogus violationsshe falls down dead in the street. Word on the grapevine is its homicide, and Lucys the number one suspect . . . Recipes included!

Loved it! Lucy was a great character. Definitely a series I‘ll continue reading. Plus, since I was really craving hummus after reading this, made some to enjoy.

Fifth book finished for #CozyInTheSun ☀️
I really enjoyed this cozy! The Ocean Crest health inspector dies after eating from the hummus bar at Kebab Kitchen. Former patent lawyer Lucy is on the case to save her parents‘ restaurant!

Librarybelle I really like this one too! 4y
mhillis @Librarybelle Yes, I think I heard about it from your post! 4y
ferskner I love that these are a bit of a different take on the traditional cozy setting. 4y

My first book finished for #NewYearWhoDis!

When Lucy Berberian heads home, she doesn‘t expect to get caught up in a murder—but the health inspector is found dead outside her family‘s restaurant, and their reputation and livelihood is on the line. As Lucy investigates (much to the annoyance of local law enforcement), this first Kebab Kitchen Mystery proves to be a fun cozy mystery with a few surprises and lots of delicious food. 😋

Librarybelle Glad this was a pick! I thought the recipes sounded good too. 4y
Lizpixie 1st book of the year! Woohoo🙌 4y

This was definitely the light cozy mystery I was looking for. Lucy decides to quit her job as a patent attorney after being passed over again for partner and returns home to her parents‘ NJ restaurant. When the health inspector is murdered, Lucy becomes the prime suspect and teams up with her BFF to find the real killer. An enjoyable, quick read, I‘m looking forward to more in the series. #Bailey says it‘s a good book for #saturdaysnuggles.

WhatWouldJaneDo That title is cracking me up! 😂 5y

I can‘t handle Dark Age at bedtime, so I‘m starting this cozy. It has a better Litsy rating than the other book I just bailed on, so I have high hopes. #Bailey freckles in the background 😍

My fourth book read during the #24in48 #readathon , and another one down for #CozyInTheSun ! This is the first in a series set in a Mediterranean restaurant. This was a fun read, and my stomach growled a few times with the food descriptions. If you liked My Big Fat Greek Family, check this one out. I‘m definitely going to look into book two!

mhillis Stacked! 📚 5y
ferskner I would definitely need to read this one at a Greek restaurant. That's too much temptation! 5y

I finished this last week. It was a good #cozy mystery! The first in a series. I‘m already reading the second one. The third comes out sometime this year. The only thing that bothers me about this one is that the mc‘s mouth watered a lot. She should get that checked out. Lol Otherwise, I enjoyed it very much and didn‘t figure out #whodunit before the end!
