I read this August 14 & gave it 5 ⭐️ on Good Reads. This is a good book to inspire dreamers, no matter the dream.
I love when a book is timely. The message of this clear, concise and powerful.
Jason Reynolds is one of my favorite new writers. 😍 He has such a way with words.
This short, yet powerful letter was written like a poem and read by Reynolds on the audiobook version. I listened to it twice because it was so inspirational. After having to return the book, I decided I have to get my hands on a print copy to read to all my nieces and nephews too.
This book is the reminder you find books when you need them. I was browsing the shelves at a county library that I hadn't been to and I found this book and it called to me. I started it on the bus ride home and damn, does this book feel like exactly what I need right now. And need to own. #amreading #books #poetry #readingintransit
This guy knows how to write and this little poeum/letter/rambling says that sometimes at 16 our dreams seemed so possible and at 25 or older they seem so vastly unattainable. But reminds us that we can still dream and still make it and to jump and keep going. Seriously, I love this author.
My final numbers for 2018, give or take a few. I didn‘t break down the genres in the audiobooks, but there was a little bit of everything. I‘m trying to do a ridiculous number of challenges this year, going into them with fresh hope that I won‘t abandon them like I usually do; semi-required reading for work and borrowed books usually edge things out. I‘m also hoping to do at least one readathon this year, schedule permitting.
Part one of my #18in2018 - there are a few more than 18!
I can‘t recommend this lovely, inspiring poem enough. Jason Reynolds perfectly expresses his hopes for all who dream. For Every One is just perfect. ❤️📚
My camera person wasn't great, but hey: I met Jason Reynolds today!! Such an awesome guy with so much insight to share in life.
What a powerful way to start my day.
“I don‘t know nothing about that at all.” We‘re all chasing something. This letter, this poem, might be just the thing to help you keep going. And maybe it‘s just the thing for the next person. Reynolds doesn‘t offer solutions, but he does offer inspiration. This was a surprisingly emotional read for me as I sit in my empty classroom thinking of the teenagers I‘ll meet soon, many of whom likely need this kind of encouragement. “Pass it on.” I will
"Dreams don't have timelines, deadlines, and aren't always in straight lines. Jump anyway." Jason Reynolds has written an amazing letter literally for every one. I've recently listened to his track series and decided to kick off #24in48 with this short letter. I'm working the whole weekend, so I will be only in spirit for the readathon with minimal reading whenever I can. What was your first pick for #24in48? ?
I‘ve been making my way through Jason Reynolds‘ work and, needless to say, devouring each one. This one is a stand out, not just because of the format or length, but because it‘s such a strong, passionate, heart felt work of encouragement. There‘s joy in the simple & short, and this is a fantastic read for anyone looking for a bit of inspiration.
Husband and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary today (27 years in total, including boyfriend/girlfriend). Rooftop alfresco dinner with a platter sampler of starters, paella, and non-alcoholic sangria. Tagged book is a hopeful, encouraging love letter to dreamers, strugglers, stragglers beset by self-doubt and crippling anxieties. While this resonated deeply with 28yo nephew who is in existential crisis, my 16yo found it meh. I liked it.📚😍
It's my day off and the hubby and I are at a quaint little local bakery, reading our individual books - he, Marvel 1872; me, the tagged title above as well as Slam! (vol. 1) and The Woman in Cabin 10 - and enjoying - he, a huckleberry Italian soda; me, a soy, white chocolate mocha. Oh! And fresh baked peanut butter cookies! Yum!
Read this beauty last night. This is a perfect young adult read for someone who doesn't have this thing called life quite figured out yet. Or for the parents and teachers of those young adults who know that you never really have it figured out. Sometimes we just make our best decisions and run with them and sometimes that works out.
Thank you @hermyknee ❤️😘😍📚The kids are going to love this book so much! Your package was the very first one to arrive today!!! Yay!!! Way to kick this book drive off! #HelpingHearts #BooksForACause #HelpingKidsinNeed #LitsyLove
5⭐️ Bookbinding while getting some audio listening in! This is a book I recommend to everyone- when finding that one thing that makes you excited to Exist, and makes you Dream to be your better self.
Yesterday I went to the Children‘s Book Festival in Hudson, NY. This is my 2nd year going & my main reason this year was to see Jason Reynolds who I missed at BookExpo last year. I got there a late & he was just leaving but I caught him on his way out. He was super sweet. He even left some signed books for them to sell which the authors usually don‘t do. I hope to get see him again &have some time to actually chat. #jasonreynolds #foreveryone
