? Six of Crows - because I stayed up late to finish it
? Harry Potter - Erol comes to mind. ?
? Daft Punk - Get Lucky "We're up all night 'til the sun We're up all night to get some We're up all night for good fun We're up all night to get lucky"

DaveGreen7777 Great choices! 😀 I love your reasoning for connecting Six of Crows with a night owl! 😂 (edited) 2d

Is it weird that Six of Crows is one of my fave motivational books? Look, if Kaz can [spoiler redacted] and Inej can [spoiler redacted], and Wylan can—you get the idea.

Good week for #BFC: Got my runs and yoga in, amidst packing up my house. We move this Friday! Read You Asked for Perfect and Her Royal Highness.

Keep on moving, everyone! We‘re halfway there! #BookFitnessChallenge

wanderinglynn Way to go! 🙌🏻 a fantastic week! 🎉 And you can find motivation anywhere. And that makes me want to push Six up on my TBR! 😉 3d

My reading book stand... though l could call it my 'failure' stand.
Even with my beloved #YearOfTolkien readalong l'm behind 😭

Six of Crows is there since last winter, when l started it for a challenge, and Depth was part of my bingo card.

#NetGalley has a way to derange my TBR. It has kept me busy through the first part of the year, but l really need to read some other books too.
Let's hope in the summer time 😊

Shaneyney I‘ve read a lot of Tolkien books but I‘ve never seen that one, guess I need to go get it 3d
JazzFeathers @Shaneyney It's part of the History of Middle-Earth, the section devoted to the creation of The Lord of the Rings. Fascinating read! You're welcome to join out readalong, should you feel like it 😊 3d

The deeper I get into Six of Crows, the less realistic Kaz Brekker feels to me as a character. The best character of the batch (and the one that feels the most like a teenager) is Inej. Kaz reads more like he‘s thirty, at the youngest; that he‘s supposed to be seventeen isn‘t working for me at all.

Today‘s #colormepretty is #grey!

Zero Repeat Forever was a lot like 5th Wave but with a POC main character. I had a lot of problems with the book though.

I had to read Miss Peregrine‘s for school, and I loved the series.

Six of Crows is one of my favorite books, period.

Rose Society was interesting, but not wholly compelling.

The Enemy was an interesting spin on zombies, but not enough for me to read the next book.

So, I‘m still working through Six of Crows, and while there‘s a lot to like about it, I‘m constantly distracted by its classification in YA. I don‘t think this is a YA book, and I‘m curious to hear from both sides of the argument.

What‘s your vote? YA or not YA?

JSW The characters are young adults, but the story was not. 2w
Shley9225 Meh I read this as a teen expecting it to be YA and had no problems with it. Nothing shocked me or stood out. I think it fits the upper end of this category just fine. 2w

I must say that after reading Bardugo's Shadow and Bone trilogy, I was a bit skeptical about moving on to a duology by the same author. But I will say that Bardugo has a way of making you fall in love with her characters, and in this particular book, she keeps the reader constantly wondering what's going to happen, because just when you think you've figured it out, another plot twist gets thrown in the mix. Can't wait to start #2!

In a town ruled by profit, no one is quite as driven as gang leader Kaz. With Inej, Jasper, Nina, Wylan, and Matthias, Kaz sets up the largest heist ever: breaking into the unbreakable Ice Court.

The world building was breathtaking and the story was intense and kept me on the edge of my seat. And that ending! ARGH!

It‘s like Leverage, before they decided to Robin Hood on purpose, in a fantasy Amsterdam, and they‘re all teenagers. 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗

I‘m gonna be totally honest about this first chapter. If I‘d made my decision whether to purchase this book based on the first two pages, I wouldn‘t have bought it. There are so many issues with those pages, and yet EVERYTHING after that is a different story. The way this chapter builds up to slap you in the face is brilliant. I‘m just hoping the rest of the book reflects everything after the first two pages and not the first two. #FingersCrossed

BillBlume For those wondering, my issues with the first two pages are Joost pining over Anya (that‘s not how teen boys think, not even close and she demonstrates his interest so much better during the stop at the Grisha workshop) and Joost looking at himself in the mirror (Seriously? He‘s already thinking about his appearance, so the glance in the mirror is redundant and amateurish (readers roasted 50 Shades for this same writer sin)). #SMH (edited) 1mo

Bottom right fan art is my favorite. 😁 I thoroughly enjoyed this dark urban fantasy heist story! It‘s the first in a duology, & though I usually prefer my series installments to have completeness in themselves, I nonetheless loved the way this one ended. Kaz is the ultimate antihero and I can‘t wait to read more set in the Grishaverse! 4.5 stars. 🌟🌟🌟🌟💫

(I also can‘t wait to see it on Netflix!)

Oh ps: #SFMBC on its way to you @cobwebmoth !

This book was alright. I don't really like the author's style of breaking up action to tell the backstory of the characters. It broke things up too much and had my head spinning around trying to keep track of all of the timelines. Interesting story, great character building.

It took me a little while to get into this story but I‘m so glad I stuck with it, as it definitely deserves the hype. I became very attached to all of the characters, and was really rooting for all of the friendships and relationships going forward into Crooked Kingdom. It‘s a completely different feel of a book from the Grisha trilogy that precedes it, it‘s much less of a standard fantasy, and it‘s completely unique.
