My #Booked2023 #SunshineNoir book: I was tempted to try a really dense South American one, but went for this relatively light southwestern US murder mystery instead. Well written, with engaging characters and insights into Indigenous cultures that are different from those in this part of Turtle Island, with a Navajo detective at the centre and traditional beliefs and practices playing a role in the unfolding of the story: part of a longer series.
Very interesting with lots of Navajo and Zuni cultural, religious and psychological details.
Interestingly, I was also reading Once and Future Witches, so I was reading two books with culturally diverse ideas about witches.
Yay! July's #20in4 Readathon starts today & I could use some inspiration!!! I've set a lofty goal as usual (1600 pages HA) so we will see how close I can get! I really need to read the tagged book - I've had it in & out of the library multiple times in the last five months & just somehow haven't actually read it!!
Thanks so much for hosting @Andrew65 !!!
Not too much tradition in it but it did talk about different Native American life and the traditions that revolve around that. So I am counting it for my spiderweb :)
