Last post for now - #WeeklyForecast includes a bunch more Christmas books!! I'm still having loads of fun reading the fluff!! However, I spent some time yesterday thinking about 2021 reading & setting up next year's journals, so I think I will be ready to tackle some regular reading in the new year as well.
#WinterGames #MerryReaders @Clwojick @Cinfhen

Cinfhen I LOVE planning for 2021 challenges!!! Which are you planning on completing?!??? 3y
TheAromaofBooks @Cinfhen - Right?! I love planning & tracking my reading almost as much as the actual reading! 😂 And last year I got way into having a physical journal to track challenges & all things Litsy, so I'm reorganizing it this year. Last year I just stuck things in as I went along, but this year I'm going to try having one notebook that has the year-long challenges in the front, then a section for all the bingo boards I love, & then all my BookSpin ⬇ 3y
TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) tracking. Then I have a separate notebook where I can have a section for each month for just regular monthly challenges & random stuff that comes up as I go along. The nerdiness is strong!! 😂 Anyway, right now I'm planning to do #Booked2021 #SeriesRead2021 #AuthoraMonth (sort of - only books that are already on my TBR that are by those authors) #FoodandLit #LitsyAtoZ & I'm going to try to #ReadtheUSA again. @Andrew65 is hosting an ⬇ 3y

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) challenge on LibraryThing that I've been participating in here - #SeparatedbyaPondTour where you try to read a book set in all states/counties/provinces in the countries traditionally “separated by the Pond“ (i.e. US, Canada, England, Scotland, Ireland, & Wales) so I'm continuing that one - it's a long-term challenge that I've given myself three years to complete!!! 3y
udyaa 😅✌️ 3y
Cinfhen That‘s a lot of challenges but it makes for a great reading experience!!! I‘ve tried the past 3 years to combine all my challenges into one notebook but I still can‘t come up with a good system. #BookNerdProblems I thought I‘d be able to #BuJo but that was a DISASTER 😂😂😂 ANY SUGGESTIONS??? 3y
TheAromaofBooks @Cinfhen - I mostly try to do challenges that I think I'm going to complete “naturally“ - i.e. with books already on my TBR!! I LOVE journaling for my challenges but have no artistic ability so most of my efforts involve printing things & taping them into my journal. So for instance for any challenges for reading a certain region, like the US, I print off a blank map & tape it in the journal & then write out the names of the states/countries/ ⬇ 3y
TheAromaofBooks whatever. When I read a book, I write it in next to the state & color in that region on the map - I'm visual & love seeing the areas fill in. I have an incredibly complicated & completely unnecessary method of tracking my books with a combo journal/spreadsheets haha Last year for any & all challenges I just stuck them in my journal as they came along which made them somewhat difficult to find later, so this year I am going to try having one ⬇ 3y
TheAromaofBooks notebook with everything I want to do for the entire year (the annual challenges I mentioned above) & then a separate notebook that I'll stick things in as they come along. For instance, when there's a readathon I'll print out the picture for it & tape it in my journal & write my goals for that readathon under it & then check them off as I go. I also do the same thing for all the swaps that I do - print out the picture that goes with it & then ⬇ 3y
TheAromaofBooks write down what I'm buying, my match's address, & stick the tracking number in there when I mail it. It's nice because for one Christmas swap I got someone I already sent a swap to this summer so I checked to see what goodies I already sent her!! Anyway I could go on about journaling ALL DAY but the point is I do zero fancy other than haphazard washi tape from time to time 😂 I can always email pictures of you're genuinely interested haha 3y
Cinfhen Im TOTALLY interested!!! I‘m also curious to see the actual size journal you use. And if you use graph, lined or unlined pages. I‘m SHOCKED that you don‘t consider yourself artistic / I think you‘re super CRAFTY!!!! I‘d be interested in purchasing a journal from you ( assuming the shipping rate isn‘t insane - I know that‘s not determined by you) because half the problem for me is the actual journal/ size and pages (edited) 3y
TheAromaofBooks @Cinfhen - Okay, so here's the funniest part of my journaling - for my book journals, I don't even use the notebooks that I make!! 😂 I do use them for lots of other stuff, but they just aren't the right size for what I want to do with my book logs. So I actually buy really cheap grid-lined composition books. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0080R9C0O - I don't know if this will open for you if you aren't stateside, but I get 12 of them for ⬇ 3y
TheAromaofBooks $20 & use double-sided tape to attach pretty scrapbook paper to the covers so they look happy. 😁 I don't know if I have your email address?? But if you email me at itsthegoodlife15 at gmail I will totally send you some pics. It's not fancy but it helps keep me on track!!! 3y
Cinfhen That‘s SO funny!!! I‘m emailing you right now....Unfortunately shipping via Amazon to Israel is $35.99 for that item. Not terrible but not worth it. I‘m pretty sure I can find the same notebooks here though. (edited) 3y
TheAromaofBooks @Cinfhen - Yes, they are super basic so hopefully you can find them somewhere. The lined ones are much more common than the grid ones, though, which is why I end up getting them from Amazon. What I love about composition books is that they are sewn together so when I start taping loads of stuff in them they just get fatter without falling apart. It's fantastic!! 3y
Cinfhen Ahhhh!! That makes sense 3y
Cinfhen I didn‘t realize the ones you use are Grids!! Good to know / I emailed you ❤️ 3y
TheAromaofBooks @Cinfhen - I emailed you back and got 100% carried away!! 😂 3y
Cinfhen That was AMAZING 🤩 thank you 3y
Crazeedi @TheAromaofBooks just read this thread, I would love to have some of your ideas. Last year I tried to do challenges but I just got completely lost. I am going to attempt #bookspin and #doublebookspin. Not sure about the #bingo. And all the other challenges look so awesome, but I fail miserably. If you could email me a couple suggestions I'd be grateful! crazeedi73@gmail.com 3y
TheAromaofBooks @Crazeedi - haha I will happily share my ridiculous slideshow with you 😂 I started by taking a few pictures & then got carried away so yes, it's over-the-top but hey, it's fun!! 😆 3y
