I may regret this, because obviously I don't have enough buddy reads going on 😂, but is anyone interested in reading the Trixie Belden books with me? I'm thinking similar to the Nancy Drew readalong - one book a month with a few discussion posts? Since we read ND in the first half of the month & discuss on the 15th, I'm thinking Trixie in the second half & discuss on the 30th?

If yes, start this month or in April?

1. I could‘ve put so many answers here - Nancy Drew, The Chronicles of Prydain, the Melendys, Anne of Green Gables etc, but I especially loved Trixie. I used to daydream about being friends with her and Honey and Jim. ❤️

3. Baking. And genealogy.
4. England. Preferably dividing my time between London & a Cotswold village.
5. You all have made me so nostalgic today! So many good kids‘ books.

I loved Trixie Belden! All my favorite childhood bookish memories are wrapped up in these books.

1. Trixie Belden ... it was a wonderful series of books that I read hundreds of times. As an adult I have been hunting copies. 2. I didn‘t really have one. Books were always my favorite.

Juliet is obsessed with “reading” Trixie Beldens. She takes them everywhere, insists on having a bookmark, and will sit, running her finger down each page for 5-6 min. So random. 😂 #raisingreaders

I did a huge purge of books last year in prep for a move. I let go of a lot of my childhood books like Hardy Boys. I kept all my Trixie Beldens (they were the hardest to find) and all of my oldest ones from Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, Tom Swift, and Meg Mysteries. I think old books are beautiful.

3yo, smugly: I'm reading at the table!
(We have banned the 7yo from reading during meals once everyone is seated, so she doesn't just ignore us.)
7yo: You don't know how to read!
3yo: I can read in my head!
7yo: But you don't know the words.
3yo: How do you know? I'm reading in my head.
7yo: Mo-om. She says she's reading in her head!

Tried to put this book away, but her baby was READING THAT. And now I RUINED IT, and her baby is CRYING BECAUSE SHE DOESN'T REMEMBER WHAT PAGE SHE WAS ON.

My Trixie Belden collection from when I was a child, I guess I've always enjoyed Mysteries! I'm currently missing 7 of the 39 books. I'm currently on the hunt to fill in the missing books, this may take a while! #CollectingIsAsMuchFunAsReadingIs 😁📖📚

My aunt, who has always been an avid reader, turned me on to this series & I was always excited to get my hands on the next one in the series. For some reason I remember having trouble finding them in the US, but my aunt always had them in Canada.

#booktober #longtitle. Searched my shelves for books with a long title. My Trixie Belden books won. I loved this series when I was a kid. She beat Nancy Drew hands down!
