Intriguing continuation of the Live Ship Trader story. Can‘t wait to see what happens in the conclusion.
I finished Fire Touched today. Not the best entry in the Mercy Thompson universe, but I still enjoyed it as I do all of Briggs‘ books. Also finished a re-listen to Alpha & Omega and Cry Wolf. PHOTO CREDIT- David Moynahan
One of the benefits of your baby refusing to nap in her crib, is lots of forced downtime on the weekends for reading in bed or in the arm chair in her room. I think it‘s a good thing, as I work so hard all week and since my work (teaching 21+ elementary students) tends to seep over into family time. Currently reading this dark fantasy by one of my favorite authors.
Just posted this to my store's page. I am still a little bit jealous of people's snuggly snowed in pics. But just a little. --It's a snow day and we're snuggled up with a good book. Just kidding, it's Florida and a gorgeous, sunny 65 outside. We do have coffee, a cozy bookstore, and lots of good reads for you to choose from.
This didn't have the impact on me that Fangirl had, but if you like Rainbow Rowell this one has the same feeling of realness, of connection to a time of life and to characters who you know and feel familiarity with . I liked that it made a story of abuse accessible without drowning the reader in depression or down playing the awful realities. Read it. Offer it to the teens in your life.
One of my local romance authors unexpectedly lost her husband over the holidays. Ancient City Romance Writers set up a Go Fund Me to help Karen pay for ending the lease that she and her husband had just renewed. If you're a romance reader or would just like to help, please consider buying one of Karen's books or donating to her Go Fund Me. These two books are available as ebooks and print on demand.
:D About to watch Fantastic Beasts with my favorite Hufflepuff (my husband). :D
Reading some Patricia Briggs and enjoying the pumpkin pasties I made yesterday with some coffee (I put a little pumpkin spice in with the coffee before brewing). It's actually 55F outside, which feels wintery to this Florida girl. All around good morning.
Reading this next. My kind of #OctoberRead! :D
I'm totally biased, but my favorite indie is the one I own and operate with my aunt, grandma, and mom-- Read (Think) Books #getindie I've definitely heard a lot of the weird things from Jen Campbell's book in my store. 😄
There never was a golden age. It was always only iron.
The gods have no hands in this world but ours. If we fail Them, where then can They turn?
You know, I think I'd overlook the murder rate to live in a cozy mystery town and have cozy mystery friends. Just finishing this one on audio. It's a solidly *good* cozy, *good* first in a series. Nothing too exciting or too stand-out about it, but it is a nice relaxing read or in my case - listen.
Just put this on the shelf at my store. Fun illustrations and lots of room to journal and doodle. :)
"Obscene Cinderella" ? Just easily amused this morning. As stressful and sometimes awful as the past week has been, I'm glad of it.
“I was horribly bookish, to the point of coming right out and saying it, which I knew was not socially acceptable. I particularly loved the adjective bookish, which I found other people used about as often as ramrod or chum or teetotaler.”
