Beautifully written and I was seriously unable to put it down. I read most of it in one night. The novel opens with Charlotte returning home after suffering a head injury and how she puts the pieces of her life back together. As the reader we go with her as we too do not know who to trust and feel uncertainty about everyone. A wonderful suspenseful and romantic tale which will keep you guessing until the end. A very enjoyable read!

This book kept me up at night! Creepy and haunting and dark. Loved this novel of demons and vampires and humans and their complex relationships. The series keeps getting better and better! Book 2 is wonderful ❤️ 📷 labibliotecadecarfax Instagram

Loved this book! I particularly loved the three characters Gabriel, Moth and Teal, the tenderness and complexity of their brotherly bond and Love was truly beautiful. Definitely creepy but juxtaposed with beautiful human relationships or that resemble human 😊

BeverleyLeeAuthor Many thanks for this lovely post 😍 I'm so pleased that you loved my boys! 6y

Course of Love | Alain de Botton

I loved loved loved this book! Part fiction part philosophical essay this book has so many truths I had to put it down and breathe a number of times because I thought de Botton was inside my head or had Big Brother cameras in my house! If you've ever loved, or are in love, or plan to love this book is for you. Insightful, beautiful, honest and terrifying. The Course of Love is a must read 📚

Sace Love him! I haven't read this one but I've read How Proust Can Change Your Life and Consolations of Philosophy. 7y
Bookcation74 This one has been sitting on my bookshelf for way too long! Must move it up the TBR list! 7y

This appropriation of The Tempest was so much fun! Set in a prison we follow our flawed protagonist as he navigates life and finds purpose. Beautifully written, sad, hilarious and everything in between. This book is a real gem. I've always loved Hamlet, maybe because I studied it in my final year of high school or because I've always had a weakness for tortured boys (a whole other story lol) but to have an alternate perspective and ending from the perspective of Ophelia is wonderful! Now I'm about to teach a unit on appropriation using this novel and Shakespeare's Hamlet. Excited nerd 🤓

Jeg Hamlet is my favourite too. Love the modern versions of Shakespeare that have been on stage here. 7y

Can't tell you how much I love this novel. Not sure if it's because it is still absolutely relevant in the age of social media and trying to project the perfect life, or whether it was because Wilde was so ahead of his time or because Dorian lives out a rebellious and secret life that we'd all like to escape to once in a while. I am interested in what would make you turn to the dark side? Now I share it with another generation 🎁

One of my favourite Aussie authors Elliot Perlman. I was seriously an embarrassing gushing groupie and I didn't even care. I don't want rockstars I want an author who has a way with words ❤️

Loved this series. It became my vampire blood. This series is far more than vampires and werewolves, it provides a commentary of societal issues and questions who the real monsters in this world actually are. The book also has so much humour, I had a real love for Cloves by the end!
