pickAbsolutely a must read to cheerfully smash the misconception that queer people are a recent development in human history. Even when the histories have a tragic bent, Prager manages to tell them optimistically and in such a way that these lives will empower teens.

pickSo. Much. Fun. It's like a mash up between Veronica Mars and Grease, and I loved every second of it. Also, Goldie has a crush on another girl and I am here for casual queer rep.
pickReminiscent of True Grit, with a compelling mystery and strong hope and an interesting setting. He pause button violations were annoying for he first 50 or so pages, but they dropped away and the mystery really picked up.

I'm gonna be real: despite signing with a dream agent and getting buckets of praise for my first novel from editors, it still hasn't sold. And I've been revising book two, trying my best to ignore that stupid voice that whispers, "What's the point?" So reading this about persistence in the publishing industry makes me unclench a little. Persistence isn't an endgame, it's the long road.
