I enjoyed this one but it was a little repetitive in rituals they need to do for the spells 3.4 ⭐️But I love this cover😍
so-soI am currently listening to the audio version of this book. I suppose if I had not grown up around the very accents the narrators are trying to pull off I would enjoy it more but the bad accents are pretty distracting. I wish they had just cast real Irish actors. I might just have to abandon the audio for print. Skip the audio, stick with the print instead. This is definitely NOT a Juvenile Fiction book. There are some pretty racey sex scenes.

I enjoyed the magic in this book, but feel like the American published changed enough of the language that this didn't feel like it was set in Ireland.

so-soI got this as an audio-book for a cross country flight. Unfortunately, hubby and I wound up chatting with the guy to the left of me a bit, so we landed with 15 minutes left in the story. Argh. (Of course I was thrilled to get off the plane!)
The narrator's accent really put me in Ireland.
I liked the story, but it didn't fully grab me.

pickI tried not to read this book quickly so it wouldn't end. It's very unique! Overall it was paced well but some parts dragged. I enjoyed the character development. I'm not a fan of alternating POVs and in the beginning it was a bit confusing. 4 out of 5-would have been a 5 if Olive was the only narrator.
so-soThis book, by the author of the phenomenal The Accident Season, was okay and resolved well. But it took FOREVER to get there. My gosh, I could've done without several of the chapters. By the time I got to the last 100 pages, I realized that I could have figured out what was going to be revealed if it had held my attention long enough at a sitting to put the pieces together.
pickThe book perfectly describes itself at the end with "Embrace the unexplained."
This is one of those books that you'll have to reread a few times in order to totally understand it. The setting and magic are well written. There's a lot of time/place jumping, mystery and "omg! That's who that is!" moments.
A stunningly beautiful book with real diversity of race, sexual orientation and ability. I am really excited to read Moira's other work

pickMagical story told in bits by Olive (Olivia), Laurel, and Hazel. The plant names seemed like an awful affectation at first, but I got over that. Laurel & her friends find the Spellbook of the Lost & Found & cast a spell to retrieve their lost diary pages on the night of the town's bonfire. That same night other people start losing things. I love how this all tied together. The Keeper of Lost Things seemed like a good companion read.

Pretty cool. Magical realism mixed with contemporary YA. Not usually my cup of tea but I'm enjoying it so far.

so-soI had a hard time deciding between "pick" and "so-so" for this one because on one hand it gave me major Raven Cycle vibes (creepy and magical) and the writing was beautiful and I was interested. On the other hand it didn't totally deliver for me. It's one of those weird books you like and don't totally like at the same time. Although I do say it's the perfect Fall or Halloween read for sure.
