This was an interesting story with 2 different time frames, one historical and one contemporary. The historical pieces reminded me a little of older Victoria Holt books, with the heroine striding out confidently on her own to fulfil her father‘s wishes. The modern story focused on solving the mystery of who, how and why. I did feel the ending was a bit rushed and kind of uneventful but the rest of the story was captivating.

Seems to be a theme to my reading choices at the moment. Strong female protagonists who refuse to conform to the expectations of society. Another which spans centuries and travels from Australia to Chile and Cornwall. Doesn't need too much analysis I'm sure. Enjoying so far
