I did a thing this weekend and went to my very first anime convention. I also did my very first cosplay which is Caleb Widowgast from campaign 2 critical role. Mostly I just wanted an excuse to buy a book holster.

This book was very interesting and educational. When I was a kid and had first watched the movie “the mummy” with brendan Frazier I was in love with Egypt and wanted to be an archeological explorer as well. Of course I grew out of that but this book reminded me of the wonder and beauty of ancient Egypt and I‘m so glad it did.

I really enjoy Linwood Barclay‘s books. He writes well and I love the mystery thriller aspect of his chosen genre. Although I figured out the big mystery before the end I still didn‘t see half of the true ending.

Interesting book and will be using concepts from it. She plugs quite a few concepts and research from other works she has published but great use of the research and case studies were interesting.

I‘m going to start by saying I‘m probably biased since the 2008 election was my very first year that I was able to vote and he is the person I voted for. I believed in his mission and although I‘m not politically active I see now that government and politics is not always the way it seems. All in all I really enjoyed reading this book and will read the next one that comes out as well.

It was interesting to read about this man that I grew up hearing about but that his name seemed to be associated with committing violence instead of peaceful protest. I also never knew about the Muslim movement for the African Americans in that time. All in all interesting and I will be looking for more information about that time

Mehso-so

The story started off ok but I wasn‘t to fond of some of the concepts found in the book. The friendships seemed more like gaslighting than real friends not to mention the unlawful activities that the book just brushes off. However the writing was beautiful so it does have that going for it.

This book was great. I‘ve been having a rough year and have struggled with depression and thoughts of suicide since I was a teenager and I‘ve been in the process of getting divorced from a person who I‘ve come to realize was never right for me. I‘ve recently started getting help for my depression and reading this book made me realize that I can do anything with my life.

I enjoyed the story even though the subject matter is sad but not uncommon. It was interesting to see the perspectives of the children and how it‘s hard for children to understand the concept of the death of a loved one.

This is a great book. I love reading novels set in foreign countries. It feels like I‘m traveling without leaving my house and it‘s educational and interesting to see the differences in procedural things like police work and family life. This book was really well written and the characters mostly flushed out there is a bit lacking in a couple of the main characters but mostly a great read and a bit twisty. Recommend.
