This is an ARC review. I found this author on TikTok and from the description she gave i was curious and wanted to read more. I am so glad I was picked because I read most of this in a day. I couldn‘t put it down and although it wasn‘t exactly what I thought it would be I really enjoyed it. The characters were so real I had a hard time with my own emotions. In the end I highly recommend this book.

This is an ARC review. This is the second book I‘ve read by Leanne Bell and I‘m 100% here for it. The dark and dirty retelling of what may be misguided children stories are amazing. The characters are so real and I fall for them all instantly. This retelling is (obviously) about the Wizard of Oz and I loved it.

I love Junji Ito‘s horror manga. It‘s creepy and so hard to put down. I am especially happy with the way he drew Frankenstein‘s monster in this retelling.

This book was fun to read. I did not think it was going to go the way it did but I really enjoyed it. It was funny while also having suspense and a bit of a twist at the end. I know I really enjoyed the humor and it didn‘t retract from the story. All in all highly recommend.

At first I was not too happy with the way the story was going but once the main plot began I fell very much in love with this book. It‘s an amazing transformation story and I‘m so happy I stuck with it.

I love this series. Lots of action and adventure along with a touch of romance. And this particular installment has LGBTQ representation as the main characters.

I found this at my library and I had just finished watching the Japanese tales of the macabre by JUNJi Ito on Netflix. I am now obsessed with horror manga and will be over here for awhile 🤣

vivastory Love Junji Ito. This is Korean, not Japanese but this was one of my highlights of the month and I think will appeal to Ito fans 14mo

I loved this book it was sweet and had a really great premise with a love story on the side. Not to mention I loved it because of the dnd aspects of paladins and the creatures and religions of that world. Already started the second book.

This is an ARC review. I was not impressed with the very beginning of the book and almost decided not to read but I‘m so glad I did because I really enjoyed the rest of the book. The plot held me and I couldn‘t put it down.

This is an ARC review. At first I was apprehensive about the writing style of this author. This is my first time reading this author and the first few chapters seemed like they were written in a way that was not easy to follow but once the main characters were introduced it got a lot more interesting and was hard to put down. They left it open for a sequel potentially and I have to say I would love to see another story in this same vein.

I really loved this book. It twisted version of Alice in Wonderland I didn‘t know I wanted. Definitely read the content warnings because it is next level with the spiciness but like I said I really enjoyed it 😉

Fairy Tale | Stephen King

I‘ll admit this one did start a bit slowly for my taste but once it got going it was really hard to put down. It‘s different than a lot of other works by King but it still had some aspects of horror especially towards the end and I highly recommend

I am actually pretty impressed with this book. It was short and “fun” and had me guessing for a bit. Then I found out there‘s another book and had to start listening to that one right after. Don‘t read if squeamish.

The Maidens: A Novel | Alex Michaelides

I really liked their first book so I was excited to read this one. The twist was really good and I didn‘t see it coming but the main character annoyed me a lot. It‘s probably my own personal bias but the main characters grief from the start seemed unrealistic and that‘s why I rated 3 stars

Hidden Pictures: A Novel | Jason Rekulak

I finished this one earlier this week but have been really sick so hadn‘t gotten around to posting. This book was interesting I enjoyed it but what‘s really remarkable is the twist. I for real did not see that coming and wow it made the book in my opinion.

The Deep | Alma Katsu

I really enjoy Alma Katsu‘s books. She takes things that have happened that are historical mysteries and gives them supernatural reasons for why they happened in fictional fairy tales pretty much. It‘s a unique concept and I really enjoy the supernatural elements.

I am appalled that these things still happen and in an area where I have spent my whole life. It‘s despicable that people still have to go through these struggles and are able to laugh about these events and situations because they happen too often. White people need to do better.

The Girl Next Door | Jack Ketchum

Although the content was despicable, it was very well written. I knew where it was going from the first but hopes I was wrong…I was not. It made me feel many emotions such as anger, disgust, fear, hope and more disgust which was the point. Trigger warnings for just about all evils.

I love these kinds of stories. Finding answers for a seemingly inexplicable event that leads to a full on investigation of who a person you thought you knew really is. All in all great story and still didn‘t end the way I thought it would.

Very interesting book and kept me guessing. Gillian Flynn had a knack for writing characters that you hate to love and love to hate. All in all kept me interested and amused.

I really enjoyed the concept of this book but I felt it was too short to do the story justice. There were also parts of this book that confused me since it seemed like there were some paragraphs that jumped to different scenes. I‘d like to have seen this as a longer horror novel but it was interesting.
