This stunning YA novel is a debut for Amber McBride.

A teenaged girl, Moth, is mourning the loss of her family when she meets a teenaged boy, Sani, searching for his place in the world. Their sweet love story and shared interest in African and Native American religious traditions is beautifully written in verse.

The ending is unforgettable. I loved this on audio but I‘m thinking about getting the book and reading it with my eyes too.

I really enjoyed this! A book in verse about a girl who survived a car crash no one else in her family did trying to move past the guilt of surviving.

Beautiful YA book in verse. This book pulled me in from the first page. Two teens, both suffering from their own trauma and demons, one Black, one Native, find each other and try to heal their broken pieces.

The ending left me stunned and I definitely didn't see it coming.

If you enjoy books in verse I highly recommend this one.
