The Unhoneymooners | Christina Lauren
Mehso-so

A pedantic story about an immature lady who screws her brother in law on vacation. It was a fun, quick read but you know what you‘re getting into.

MuddyPuddle Exactly my take, too! 4mo

A captivating story about an unlikeable character who matures gay in catholic Ireland. It takes you through a journey of the recent decades and gives insights and understanding of how life really works.

Bklover I loved this book! 4mo

Fudge Cupcake Murder | Joanne Fluke

It was a cute quick read. I like my mysteries a little darker but if you like hallmark and wholesome characters this would be a treat! Bonus points for baking recipes throughout the book.

Loved it. Little snippets reveal the lives of an extremely quirky and successful family. The book went fast and I learned quite a bit of new information. I cannot imagine how much research went into this well thought out novel! If you like a quick read from different view points, here‘s your next adventure.

Fast paced and a good insight into the real world of inner city EMS. Different from my experience with Chicago Fire Department but medics are medics anywhere 💪🏻

My favorite book ever. Explore a quirky view of feeling over the edge and the ever evolving way we view mental health. It's definitely relatable! In a dark way, it's kind of a funny story!

Much ADO about Nothing | William Shakespeare
Mehso-so

Eh overdone everywhere. If you LOVE Shakespeare it's great but the plot is so typical

KatieanneF Haha I agree with you, but the plot was original when it was written. It‘s so funny how many things have used the plot (and STILL use it lol) 2y
CaitIsExtra The plot was stolen from a different source actually at the time! 2y
readinginthedark Shakespeare‘s plots are really never that great. They‘re all based on other works. The wittiness and banter (especially between Beatrice and Benedick), as well as Beatrice‘s feminist outrage at Hero‘s situation, are what really make this play for me. If you‘re interested in Shakespeare, we have an ongoing #ShakespeareReadalong ! We‘re about to finish Othello, and Taming of the Shrew is next, which should be interesting. 2y

Brave New World | Aldous Huxley

If you like dystopian society's this is definitely the right spot. Similar to 1984 this is the pleasurable aspect of controlling the masses. Why be tough and scary when you can keep people high and pleasant all the time? Definitely something to think about!

Big Little Lies | Liane Moriarty

Alright guys, I LOVE Liane Moriarty novels! What else do you recommend? I like the strong female characters, beautiful settings, non creepy mystery that keeps you engaged in the story, humor and dark humor that makes you feel! What do y'all got!? #lianemoriarty #suggestion #suggestionsneeded #biglittlelie #help

Where She Went | Gayle Forman
Pickpick

Of course I had to read the follow up to If I Stay and I think I liked Where She Went more! With the characters older and more mature we see much more development in two complex characters. Definitely a #guiltypleasure read

If I Stay | Gayle Forman
Pickpick

Gayle Forman is definitely one of my #guiltypleasure authors. This book really leans into the young adult mind and makes you evaluate what really is important. Family? Young love? Letting go? Music? Career? And really asks you if everything is worth it. Oh #youngadultfiction always playing with my emotions

I'm a sucker for a good #youngadult #fiction #romance especially when it takes place in other country. This book makes you emotional like all #YAfiction and definitely leaves you wanting more. I was definitely GLUED to it!

I liked it. The imagery is really good and keeps you wondering the truth until the end! The characters all have very distinct personalities and for a darker tale it was an enjoyable read

Personal favorite. I've never felt more connected to a character. Every woman should be required to read this book and every personality is captured and empowered with compassion and understanding

Traci1 💙💙 this book. 2y
KateFulfordAuthor If you like this style.... If you need another recommendation, may I point you to my People‘s Book Prize nominated debut? Sassy female narrative, laugh out dialogue and a pacy plot. Check the link in the bio for 2 free chapters, reviews and more. 2y

A book that I'll treasure forever. Examine the psych of the love of friendship versus the underlying feelings of jealousy. The ending made me realize it hit me more than I could have imagined. Jealousy truly can be a monster

Handmaid's Tale | Margaret Atwood

I'll be honest. It gave me a lot to think about but as a book, it was so slow and hard to get into! I hate myself for admitting it but if your library has it on hold for weeks and weeks and you feel bad for not finishing, this girl isn't judging you.

Kramash11 I kept waiting for it to get exciting and it never happened. I was really disappointed with the book. 2y

When you need to relax and get lost in a story, this has the imagery for you! I adore Liane Moriarty and all of her novels are wonderful! This particular story gets you lost in the dreamy waves of the Australian sunset, think about your own subconscious and show some compassion for quirky characters. HIGHLY recommend for a fun pleasant read.
