The Reckless Oath We Made | Bryn Greenwood

I was not in love with this book. It was good but not great. It was tiring after awhile reading Gentry‘s old English. The story was complex but I had a hard time rooting for a character.

Same narrator as You. Easy to listen to. If you need some more Joe time this is for you. It was satisfying but I wish there was a definite end.

The writing style was simple and I didn‘t want to root for any of the characters. It was An easy read but predictable. I scanned a lot of the pages and still knew what was going on.

It was a bit gruesome at times but I thought it was well written and it kept me interested.

I have never read Grisham before. My preservation management professor recommended the book. I did really enjoy the narrative and how he interwove the stories. Great mystery of stolen goods.

Bailedbailed

The concept of the book sounded interesting. English major turned to advertising to get a job, makes a lot of money. Falls in love with a client.... I put it down and was going to bail but I tried it again. I just couldn‘t get into it. It felt whiny and I didn‘t care about the characters.

So maybe it was me but I thought the book was just alright. I was confused till almost the end about the relationship between some of the characters. I skimmed the italicized parts which probably contributed to my confusion. Maybe I‘ll try reading it again later

After reading this book I don't think I can ever read any more YA. I liked the premise of the plot but, the author's twists and turns were awful. The writing was filler and I kept scanning ahead just to finish. I'm glad I got this from the library didn't waste any money on it.
