Ch 10.1: I have a brilliant idea. Let‘s have a whole chapter about some kid we don‘t know, and only disclose the tenuous connection in the last line 🤷🏻‍♀️ #whocares #wheresdmitry #whatshappeninginjail #hashegonetocourtyet #ohandalso #TRAIN 🚂 #thebros #hashtagbrigade #pemberlittens

mcctrish The whole time I‘m reading this “who the fuck is this kid?!” Oi with the loofa again 🙅🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ 2mo

BarkingMadRead @mcctrish just when we thought we were making progress 🙄🙄 2mo
BarkingMadRead @mcctrish 🤣🤣 @dabbe it made me irrationally angry…. Or maybe rationally angry? 2mo
dabbe Perfect pic, btw! 😂😂😂 2mo
mcctrish @dabbe 🤣🤣 2mo
Bookwormjillk @BarkingMadRead I think it‘s rational 2mo
TheBookHippie Me, “My migraine must be worse than I thought….” 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 WTF did I just read? 2mo
CatLass007 Stand By Me! At first I thought it was “that” scene from Fried Green Tomatoes. 2mo

SamAnne I real hate the way Fyodor talks at the reader…insufferable rants on his deep, deep thoughts. 3mo

BarkingMadRead @SamAnne for real! Ugh! 😩 3mo
IndoorDame I totally skimmed that “poem” too 😂😂😂 and I only figured out what it actually said when I got to Alyosha‘s summary 3mo
currentlyreadinginCO Absolutely 😂😂 @IndoorDame 3mo
mcctrish Absolute bullshit! Ivan will not be invited to the Tortured Poets Society after that fail! Also Fyodor needs to keep his chapters shorter, that is too much blah 3mo
BarkingMadRead @mcctrish so much blah! 3mo
Bookwormjillk Totally skimmed it too. When I saw it was a 28 minute read I almost fell out of my chair. 3mo
Bookwormjillk The only good parts were when A interrupted to tell him his poem didn‘t make sense 3mo
Librarybelle I feel like I need a quick education on what was happening in Russia at this time. There is so much deep thought on some really heavy issues - I know it‘s a commentary on contemporary happenings, but me as a 21st century reader, and a non-Russian reader, is a little in the dark. I can only imagine how Crime and Punishment compares! 3mo
daena “Alyosha, who had listened to him all this time without saying anything, though towards the end, in a state of extreme agitation“. All I could think was same bro, same. #readtheroomivan (edited) 3mo
dabbe Me during this chapter: 😳 ... 😳 ... trying to read ... 😤 ... 😩 ... 😰 ... 🥱 ... 💤 ... wake up ... skim the mother-f---er ... 😎. In tomorrow's chapter, Ivan says this: “For so many years I was silent with the whole world and did not deign to speak, and suddenly I spewed out so much gibberish!“

Thanks, Ivan. Could you have said that BEFORE you started speaking in the last chapter? As @TheBookHippie would say, #oytothevey!

Cuilin So glad it wasn‘t written in verse, prose was bad enough!!!!! 😩 3mo
TheAromaofBooks I used to think I was bad at writing poetry... then I met Ivan 😂 3mo
Ruthiella Guys, according to my sources, this is the CRUX of the novel, the jewel in the crown, it‘s raison d‘etre…😂 3mo
currentlyreadinginCO This is the first chapter I've seen in my used edition that was heavily marked up from the previous owner! I wondered if they were reading this for school and if this may have been one of the most important chapters, and then I thought about doing some research, but then I got pulled into my actual job and forgot ... @Ruthiella 3mo
BarkingMadRead @Ruthiella I saw that! I must be broken 🤣 it made me want to commit crimes against myself 🤣 3mo
KAO I had been looking forward to this chapter, because I remember (from somewhere) that this was the most famous segment. So I really gave it my full attention—but I found it disappointing. Deep, but honestly not up to the hype, in my opinion. Can it be that I am suffering from a short attention span?? Maybe. 3mo
