Soooo I'm not exactly known for 'light and fluffy'. I keep 2 kinds of books: dark and fantasy. Since fantasy is hard to use as a book club pick, here are some options I've come up with! Let me know what you think and if nothing works, I'll come up with something else 😁

FantasyChick I think I'm leaning toward Dracul, based on the comments. Provided everyone doesn't mind a bigger book. Everyone knows Dracula, right? I read a few pages of The Witches and it's a but on the heavy side for a BC pick (kind of textbook). If you love the #Buffyverse, this is a definite #Recommendsday pick: it‘s fun and just sweeps you along in the dysfunctional world of demons, Watchers, and Slayers. While not a perfect book, it is entertaining and very enjoyable, and the ending feels appropriate and sets up well the next book in the projected series. So don‘t mind too much all the explanations and recaps at the beginning — it really gains steam as it goes!

quietlycuriouskate Well, that's just strange (no, not the Spike love: that's not strange at all!). Something I read in Anna Karenina at the weekend made me think about the musical episode from Buffy. As I (dimly) recall it, from years ago, Buffy singing don't give me a song but something to sing about and Spike replying that life is just living. (Correct me if I'm mis-remembering.) 6y
