Down, Down the Mountain by Ellis Credle is one of my favorite reads for the classroom. It was written 1934, and is still holds such a great book for children from Appalachian backgrounds. Hank and Hetty need new shoes, but their family has no money so they have to plant turnips to sell to get money to buy new shoes. This book has won the Lewis Carroll Shelf Award. Great to read for children!

I've had this on my TBR list for years and I'm glad I decided to finally read it. It was just a cute book and easy read. I loved all of the fairytales the author fit into the story. Some I'd never heard of before so I had to learn more about them after I finished the book. I also enjoyed seeing all of the stories come together in the book.

Hunter, a hunter for all things cool, runs into the mystery of what happened to his cool boss. With the help of Jen, an innovator, they follow the trail to something much more.

I always like the weird history that Westerfeld includes in each book, but I really couldn‘t get into this book. I read it once before and didn‘t care for it. This will be the last time I read it.

My kids love Pete the cat stories. We found it on Amazon Prime if you wanted to watch it too. 🥰

My library loan came in and I got to reread this childhood favorite for the holidays! 🙌 I can‘t recommend this edition highly enough! The words are familiar to me, but I didn‘t grow up with these Jim LaMarche illustrations and they‘re so full of life! The characters faces are really expressive, the shoes in the shop are creative… it all pulls you into the fable like you were really there. #WinterGames2021 #TeamGameSleighers

StayCurious You should count this as a #HolidayTradition for more points 10mo
IndoorDame @StayCurious okay awesome. Thanks! 10mo

My grandparents like buying me a new pair of shoes for my birthday (or maybe I like the tradition of a new pair of shoes from my grandparents?)

Usually we‘d go together to look - but - Nana is still on the mend from a fall and time runs short (my birthday is on Friday) so I popped into my favourite shoe shop near work and narrowed it down to these before requiring the help of the group chat 😂

thegirlwiththelibrarybag Nana made me laugh when she asked if I expected them to be wrapped 😂 like, yes? 🎁 10mo
