panEnttäuschend. Die Handlung drehte sich im Kreis, es ist nur wenig passiert, und magische Gegenstände spielten eine eher untergeordnete Rolle. Der Ort (unser Japan) blieb blass, obwohl ich mich schon darauf gefreut hatte, mehr über japanische Märchen zu erfahren. Zum Schluss wurde eigentlich kaum etwas Neues erreicht.

so-soLeider blieb der dritte Teil eher blass und ohne richtige Spannung. Das Goldene Garn spielte nur eine kleine Bedeutung, eigentlich reisten alle die ganze Zeit nur durch irgendwelche kargen Landschaften. Für die Magie der russischen Märchen war da nur wenig Platz.

pickI read the sequel to Steinernes Fleisch today on my parents boat 🚤, and we had two visitors as well! Lebendige Schatten is an improvement to the first book, there is barely any Will & Clara in it (yeah!) and we learn much more about the Spiegelwelt. On to book 3!

pickI read this over ten years ago, and back then, it had a completely different cover. I enjoyed it a lot more than when I was 12. The writing, as always, is very metaphorical and also gentle (I don‘t know how else to describe it), though it has some scary elements too, which is why I won‘t really recommend it for children.
