So good. The plot is quite twisty and there's lots going on. Its told mostly by Vicki but we do hear from Scarlet throughout as well. The plot is clever as it slowly brings everyone together. Its a quick read and I found myself struggling to put it down. Vicki takes a while to warm up to and she has some issues but you find an understanding as the plot develops. The ending was so good and really brought it all together. #Netgalley 4*

I thought I had this book worked out from early in the story. Then McFadden had me questioning everything I thought I knew. That‘s when the twists started coming. This book was a wild ride! I couldn‘t stop once I‘d started.

I started this after finishing Fearing the Black Body during my plasma donation today. I‘m already nearly 25% of the way through the book and I‘m pretty sure I know where this is going. Still compelling and well written, so I look forward to continuing the story.

GingerAntics There was the part where the wife‘s diary refers to her husband not crying as “taking it like a man” that felt gross compared to the rest of the story, but the rest is good so far. 5d

I read this solely because I was being lazy - it ticked off three prompts on the Goodreads reading challenges
Note to self: choose books because they genuinely interest you, not to satisfy a prompt.
This was repetitive, unintentionally funny in places, and I didn‘t like the writing style. The best review of it I‘ve seen is “if Temu wrote Misery”…

Book 64/80 #Read2025 @DieAReader

Jari-chan I also had to learn that checking off prompts with random books doesn't satisfy me in the slightest 🙈 1w

Such a good book. I was nervous going into it because I wasn‘t a huge fan of her book The Teacher. But this one was so good and the ending gave me goosebumps.
