The Crash | Freida McFadden
post image
Pickpick

The Crash exceeded my expectations. As the story unfolded, it became increasingly suspenseful. I particularly enjoy Freida‘s writing style, which allows the reader to experience the story from each character‘s perspective. The ending was perfect—very sweet and tender. It wasn‘t what I‘ve come to expect from Freida, so I thoroughly enjoyed this unexpected twist to her creativity.

A super quick, gripping story.
Hill inherited his father's knack for eerie topics that makes you wonder if just maybe all of this could be real.

Also #CoverLove 😍.

This was a very fun, cozy mystery about a mom who maybe witnesses a crime and the chaos ensues. A fun collection of characters, some nice surprises and a little bit of romance. I look forward to more books with Mavis! 4.5⭐️

4-26-25: My 29th finished book of 2025! Tegan has found herself pregnant and alone, with only the help of an attorney, Jackson, who is trying to facilitate a binding monetary contract with the man she had a one night stand with. When Tegan makes some harsh realizations, she decides to visit her brother to regroup. After a terrible crash, Tegan is rescued by Hank and Polly, but things don‘t turn out the way she would have hoped. ⭐️⭐️⭐️📖#️⃣2️⃣9️⃣

The Inmate: A Novel | Freida McFadden
post image

4 Stars • The Inmate by Freida McFadden is a gripping psychological thriller that I couldn‘t put down. Brooke Sullivan, a nurse at a maximum-security prison, faces her ex, Shane, a convicted murderer she helped put away. ⬇️

suvata The fast pace, short chapters, and jaw-dropping twists kept me hooked, though Brooke‘s naive choices frustrated me. The prison vibe and chilling epilogue are spot-on, but some plot conveniences and her reckless decisions dock it a point. Still, a solid 4/5 for a wild, twisty ride. 1w

•I tried this while knowing it probably wouldn‘t work for me, despite really liking Kill For Me, Kill For You. Inevitably, it was a combination of the narration and the storyline that didn‘t work for me. It wasn‘t my style of book, I believe. When it comes to thrillers, I‘m more new-school than old-school, and this felt old-school to me, which more than likely translates to it being liked by many others.

This was a thrilling read. It had me on the edge of my seat. The deserted island feels added to the tension. The ending of Natasha Preston books always takes me by surprise. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Tower | Gregg Andrew Hurwitz

Pickpick

Every time I pick up a novel by Gregg Hurwitz, I can‘t help but feel confident that it‘s going to be an excellent read. His first novel, “The Tower,” is a fast-paced and suspenseful story that perfectly captures the essence of the genre I love. It features a high-security prison, a sadistic serial killer, and an ex-FBI agent, all elements that make for a thrilling and engaging read.
