Read in May. Predictable since page one. I can‘t say much without spoil the story. I didn‘t see that twist coming but maybe not a surprise for some readers. So what I liked in this book? Those psychological dark personalities dynamics description. I think author knows pretty well the correctional system but some actions were a little bit exaggerated. Slow pace. I liked it not love it. But it was okay for me. It has low rating in GR(so-so)3⭐️

Gissy #MothersMonth I know, I have a dark side, reading about bad daughters/mothers during this month, idea by YouTuber @TheShadesOfOrange 😳☺️

Read in May-1st book in this new duology🤷🏽‍♀️But related with These Violent Delights world, it should be read in order. I‘m still need to read the companion novellas🙄. I really enjoyed this story. It is about Rosalind. There are some twists and full of intrigue and action. The romance parts are very YA tone but they are cute and I some are funny. That ending😱Great! For a YA fantasy genre, 4⭐️

This book is equal parts riveting, moving, and informative. If you want to laugh, cry, and learn a whole lot, this book is for you. It is one thing to know that trauma exists in the world, and it is another to understand just how deep it runs through society, through families, and in our brains. Unlike other literature on trauma, Dr. Bigbie's My Link To Mildred offers an actual solution that works - Nonviolent Communication. #magnificentmay

Well #MagnificentMay didn't go so well. Panned one book and finished another. Chunks read in a couple but fell into a slump in the middle. Thanks for hosting @Andrew65

Andrew65 It sometimes happens. Best of luck with your reading in the rest of the month. 10mo
kezzlou85 @Andrew65 thanks. Eldest is now sitting her GCSEs so lots going on but she's handling it so well. 10mo
Andrew65 @kezzlou85 Great to hear, the prospect of it is always worse than actually doing it. 10mo
kezzlou85 @Andrew65 oh definitely though the history paper had a mistake in it. On the highest mark question. They apologised but whether they take that into account in the marks remains to be seen. Thankfully only the first of three history papers. 10mo

Pretty good considering I spent basically all weekend playing video games instead of reading 😆

Mehso-so

This novella set in an 18th-century parliament inhabited by humans and fairies is clever, funny and satirical, but the plot and characters just didn't appeal to me all that much. I adore the cover image, though.

This was the final book I finished for the #MagnificentMay readathon. I met 5 of my 6 goals so am quite happy with the result. Thanks to @Andrew65 for hosting!

I couldn't believe that a true crime novel not involving murders or missing persons could be so absolutely riveting. I found it especially interesting since I've been working at a small tech company for over 20 years, and this book is essentially a guide on how NOT to run a tech business!
