The long list is up! 💕 #iwd #womensprizeforfiction

jlhammar Yes! So excited! Lots I haven't read yet. I really enjoyed both The Sentence and The Book of Form & Emptiness. The Great Circle was just okay for me and didn't really get on with Opal & Nev. Look forward to trying some others. 2y
squirrelbrain I‘ve read 7 of them, just been to the library to get the 2 that they had… (so eager!). There are only 2 I can‘t (yet) get on Scribd, Libby or at the library and I‘m not so keen on the sound of those so I might wait to see if they make the shortlist. 2y
KarenUK I‘ve only read the Shafak so far! But own a few others, and on hold for a few more at library! So about normal! 😂 @squirrelbrain 2y

Sophronisba The Great Circle is so good, and I also loved Opal and Nev. 2y
BarbaraBB Looking forward to the Ozeki and the Shafak 2y
KarenUK Loved the Shafak, and going to try and read as many as I can of the rest…. I loved Tale of the time being, so have high hopes for the Ozeki…. @BarbaraBB 2y

I've never really thought about it but it seems that the majority of my favourite mystery/crime authors are women! Here are some of them. There are other favourite women authors who wrote other genres that I like, too.

Pickpick

A difficult, confrontational and important discussion on gender politics. Solnit pulls no punches with this one and while she continues to champion the hope at the heart of Hope in the Dark there's a lot of darkness here to. She's not afraid to hammer home some terrible statistics or strike hard at the insidious nature of misogyny but these are things we need to know. Happy International Women's Day, Litsy! Let's make #feminism for everybody #IWD

I work for survivors of domestic violence, so I'm in the office and wearing red for #adaywithoutawoman. Strike on, strikers and read on Littens! Here are some wonderful women-centered books I've read this year #internationalwomensday #iwd #queerbooks
