All This I Will Give to You | Dolores Redondo
post image
Pickpick

Written in Spanish by Dolores Redondo and translated into English by Michael Meigs. Redondo is also the author of the immensely popular Baztán trilogy. When Spanish businessman Álvaro is killed in a car accident, his writer husband, Manuel, is suddenly made aware of a secret life that Álvaro never mentioned. Highly recommend this mystery set in Spain! ? #translation #womenauthors #Spain

“Keep good books within reach. Start with Traveling Mercies. David Sedaris is good too. If you don‘t have any good books, go to the library. If you don‘t have a library card, apply for one. This will #stress you out. You will worry that the librarian will sense that you are a disaster and reject you. Listen: they don‘t know, and they don‘t care. They gave me a card, and I‘ve got a rap sheet as long as your arm.”

I‘m going with a classic #iconic figure, Charlotte Bronte. I can‘t imagine growing up in such an isolated place and yet crafting arguably one of the best loved novels ever. This recent biography is on my tbr list - another book I started when it first came out, had to put down, and haven‘t had a chance to pick it up again. I adore the cover! #Movember

Also, I woke up to see so much concern over personal fears on not doing Litsy right - be you! ⬇️

Librarybelle These fears show me I‘m in the right place, because I honestly felt the same way, yet feared (haha) mentioning it. Did I post my cats too much? Anyone super annoyed over my buddy read posts? Then, I thought, just be myself. This is my happy place, and I really feel blessed to know all of you. You‘ll never know how much you help me! ❤️❤️❤️ to all! 2w
Sace @Librarybelle I wonder if people have the same fears on bigger social media outlets. The fact that we are having this conversation makes me think not. We are less "anonymous" here. I like that intimacy 2w
ljuliel Agreed. You guys just post. The older I get, the more I realize I can‘t please everyone , so I just say what I think. I‘m not too concerned about winning popularity contests. Life‘s too short. Be yourself. @librarybelle @Sace (edited) 2w

Librarybelle @Sace Agreed. We‘ve developed a close relationship in here compared to other social media sites. 2w
TheAromaofBooks One of the things I love about Litsy is how personal it feels. I think the lack of political discussions around here really helps us all to focus on more happy things than other social media! Also, side note, I don't really think it's possible to post about cats too much, so keep up the good work. :-D 2w
Billypar I like the cats: my apartment doesn't allow them, so I feel like I'm living vicariously through the #catsoflitsy And to my knowledge, no one has suggested that we ditch the books and change the name to Catsy (though, wouldn't be bad as its own social media app 😸) 2w
Mollyanna I love the focus on books with the accoutrement of life on Litsy!! It‘s a beautiful balance. And I totally agree, you be you, and @Librarybelle You are awesome! 2w
batsy Charlotte! ❤️ I want to read this, too. 2w
Librarybelle @TheAromaofBooks @Billypar Catsy! Now that‘s an app I would download! I think animals are perfect reading companions and love to see everyone‘s pets. 2w
Librarybelle @Mollyanna Thank you! 😊 2w

I started this one awhile ago but had to return it to the library due to its waiting list - haven‘t had a chance to get it out again! I thought it interesting, and something that I hadn‘t really thought about...

Greenwood investigates how easy or hard it is to go off grid - stage one‘s death and create a new life. She meets individuals who help others change identities, as well as those who help people stay off grid. #HowIWouldDie #SoaringScores

Cinfhen That sounds really interesting 3w
CrowCAH There‘s no such thing as “off the grid” in Person of Interest show. 3w

Toni Morrison talking about racism and fascism in the 90s. Every brilliant word still sadly relevant.
